Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC
I have purchased a compaq presario CQ60-104TU, with windows vistalled and now I want to install windows XP Professional SP2 in it but when I am booting from bootable XP CD it is not working. Please let me know the procedure how to convert vista to XP
I like to use a cool utility calle System Rescue CD.
You can download it from: http://www.sysresccd.org
You want to download the 'Stable version for x86'. The filename should be: systemrescuecd-x86-1.1.5.iso
Burn the downloaded .ISO image to a CD using a utility such as Nero, then boot your computer from that CD exactly the same way you'd boot from the Windows CD.
Just hit enter at all the prompts to accept the default values. Once you get to the command line, you should see instructions for running 'GParted'. You should follow those instructions. I think you just have to type:
At the command line, but you may have to do some other step first. This will run a graphical partition utility you can use to delete your Windows Vista partition.
