Picture error message

I tried to download some images from my camera into a Dropbox file on my Mac. The Dropbox couldn't find the new images I had taken and when I unplugged the camera I got the message 'Picture Error.' I have been able to take and download further pictures, but I don't seem to be able to view them in the gallery format, only one by one, and the picture error message is still there when I click through the images.

Turn on your camera, when the lense is opened, hold it till the blue screen appears, extend the lense to his maximum forcing it a little bit then when you turn off your camera, the noise won't be here. Turn on again your camera and hopes it works. I tried it on my camera, works well at the first try then again the error, i did it twice holding the lense when you turn it on, then it worked perfectly.
Hope it works for you.
P.S : my english isn't well but i hope it helps.

SOURCE: XD Card format

Have you sent the camera to olympus for the free upgrade to enable the xd 512gb and 1gb card? go to the olympic site and then to their support page for c-50zoom and look for instructions for the upgrade, you must have the product ID from the package and the sales receipt and make sure you have purchased the olympus sponsored card mfg. This is listed in the instructions. They get the job done pretty quick and pay for the return shipping.

Try formatting the card on your pc, connect the card to a card reader, open my computer find the card, right click format, try standard fat first and format. if that doesn't work try Fat 32.

SOURCE: Olympus 2G xd M card with pictures - error message "clean card" or format

Just had the same issue today. The Olympus Helpdesk told me that the fact I had printed one of the picture from the Xd card in directly inserting the card in the printer slot for Xd created the problem....
The guy from the Helpdesk strongly recommended to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer exclusively using the USB cable of the camera.
In the end I have saved all my 505 pictures in using the Smart Recovery from PC Inspector but why the hell this problem only happens with Xd cards?

How do i get photos off the phone camera to my pc [xp]

Couple of ways.

One option is to go to the manufacturer's website and download the Suite. What make is it anyway?
Once the suite is installed you can then perform several tasks, like transfering photos from and to your phone.

another option is to get a bluetooth adapter and have it paired with your phone. you can then send files through it.

another is download Dropbox into your phone and register a new account. Once this is done, you can then upload photos to dropbox. Then on your pc, head over to dropbox.com and login. All your uploaded photos will be there.

Hope this helps.

I cannot download my photos because of a message to get the newer version that will not close. I have a Mac OSX. When I try to download the newer version it doesn't seem to be able to talk to the camera...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Did not receive a cd with Sharper Image Digital Photo Keychain. Downloaded software from site, but when the photo keychain is plugged into the computer, does not recognize software.

I see you have downloaded the software for the keychain. You didn't mention downloading the drivers. The drivers is what lets the keychain and the computer sync and communicate.

I have a DSC T70. Sometimes i get a message "File Error" for some of the pictures. For these pictures, the file does not show and when printed, the picture is merged with another picture.

The LCD screen of the Camera may display a FILE ERROR message when trying to view a still image on the Camera if the image was rotated, modified and overwritten using editing software on a Computer.

To play images you have taken on the Camera, it is recommended that you do not make any changes to the original image files.

Card not initialised

It looks like your Mac is writing data back to the card while connected. The camera tries to access the images, but sees the Mac file, and doesn't know what to do. Try accessing the images on the Mac while the camera is connected. If you see files that are not the camera's files or folders, delete them. Don't delete your image files and folders, however.
