The light is flashing two times than it pauses. We had a message to install the printer when it was already installed. It would not print in color then when printing in black it would use to much ink. Now the cartridges slam from right to left when we turn the computer on or trying to use the printer. Can someone tell us what this means?
if cartridges are slamming then its a problem with encoder strip..this is a transparent strip that runs behind ur cartridges...ther is nothing much u can do to fix this...u need to buy a new printer...contact lexmark tech support on 800-332-4120 for discounts

Best to un-install the printer drivers, softwares related to this printer. Go to Canon.com and download the latest drivers and software. Connect the printer to the computer and let the computer recognise it and then install the drivers from your download. You can also check if there is any damage to the cable as this could also stop the communication between the computer and printer.

Fifteen Flashes: The FINE Cartridge cannot be recognized.
Possible causes are as follows:
- The FINE Cartridge may not be installed properly.
- The FINE Cartridge may not be compatible with this printer.
Install the appropriate FINE Cartridge. If lines are misaligned or the resulting output is not satisfactory, carry out the Print Head Alignment.

I have canon PIXMA ip3000. After power cut at night printer doen not
print. I re installed the drivers but no result. When try to print
message appears printer is offline. POwer button is flashing shorthly
green after orange lights. Error code 5100.
Hi. The flashing code signifies that there is a fault with the connection between the ink cartridge and the printer - usually because either the tape is still on the cartridge or maybe some glue from the tape still on the contacts. In my case, I think the cartridge was simply knackered, so I threw it away and opened yet another ink cartridge. It now works fine.
If you want to test yours, simply take out both ink cartridges, and re-insert them one at a time. If you've put a working cartridge in the flashing will stop; if you've put the dodgy one in it'll still flash. Just replace the dodgy one.
