Question about Maytag LSE7806A Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer

Coin Stuck In My Dryer

I just moved into a new house and the previous owners apparently had a coin in their jeans pocket.  Now my dryer makes the most IRRITATING rattling noise ever, and I simply just can't take it anymore.
I've tried accessing it through the lint trap area, to no avail.
It's a Maytag Neptune front loading dryer.
I'm about to call in a repairman, but I'd love to avoid spending the money on that if I can help it.  It's seriously driving me crazy.  Help!!

We have the same problem with a Stacking Maytag. There is a coin in a vien as I can move it with a magnet. Just can't get the magnet to position the coin to slide it out thru the marrow **** between the drom and vein-base.. Trying to figure out how to get the front panel off so I can remove the vien and retrive the coin.

Well, i can get into the machine, not aproblem.. is the coin perhaps trapped inside one or more of the innerr drum viens perhaps??? anyway, ifyou removet he2 screws securing the door, and the 2 screws opposite the hinge, the front "u" shaped front panel will tilt off fowards.. from there theres a few 5/16 screws holding the main top assy to the froma of machine, you can remove them and tilt the top back, giving you acess to the outer drum assembly( and you can removethe drum viens and retreive te hoffending "coins" in htat fasion.. hope this helps.. TURN OFF POWER TO UNIT<< LIVE WIRES!!!!!!!

Dryer makes a screeching sound when run

It's probably caused by a coin, nail or screw between the dryer drum and the dryer housing. However strange it may sound, just put your head inside the dryer drum and look around the front juncture between the drum and dryer housing. You may find the offending object fairly easily.

Oh your bringing me back to the early days of my appliance repair career when i only serviced coin operated washers and dryers. Not in the coin box but the cover on top where you would get access to the timer is a bolt that holds the coin slide to the coin box asm. remove that bolt(if i remeber from 25 years ago its a 5/16th inch hex head and brass colored) and the coin slide will come out and then gotta kinda genlty presuade it in with a hammer so the coin will drop through or pull on the handle ya would push, to free it up and remove stuck coin

When the dryer is on it makes a loud clunking sound during each rotation

Check to see if something was left in a pocket when dried and fell out. like a coin, a magnet, a wrench. Often, things fall out of pockets and make a loud clunking sound when the drier is turned on.

Coin is stuck

Does it become quiet for awhile after the coin is removed? I can't imagine how a coin lying in the bottom is making any kind of noise. There is no way for a coin to be trapped on the outside of the drum. It might, if it got past the lint filter and worked it's way into the blower housing, make an occasional 'clink'. Does the lint filter have any sizable holes in it? Do what these techs have done and see what you find.

Coin-operated dryer won't turn off at end of cycle.

A dryer timer is a real simple device. Take the whole thing out and give it a good inspection. A little wd 40 can do wonders. A bad coin in the works can jam it on. Put a coin thru the works, watch the action. The timer motor can fail or get stuck, spray and test.

  1. purchase a coin insert and blank the slot that coins fit in, then the slide will slid in without coins, just acting like a button, if you examine the slide you wil notice that there are plastic inserts in unused coin slots, any maytag commercial dealer has them.
  2. replace coin slide with 'free operation' converter, which is just a button plate that pushes the striker on the timer switch
  3. take top cover off and just push the striker on the timer, (this is NOT) a recommended option, 220v is enough to spoil you whole day)

Whirlpool coin operated washer and dryer

you need to take the coin slot out by using a socket wrench. then you need to flip the slot over and take the screws off. there is going to be two more screws to unscrew. take off that piece and also the claw like coin catcher. form here on out you should be able to remove as many slots as you need to.

Coin in dryer

The coin is probably rattling against the blower fan. First, unplug the dryer or turn off the main breaker. There are live voltages present inside a dryer even with the power shut off. Then, follow these steps: 1. Take out the lint screen. 2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door. There are a couple of screws under the front. The panel should pull straight down then come off. 3. Remove the blower fan housing. There will be 2 to 3 screws holding it in place. NOTE: If you did not take out your lint screen in STEP 1 you will know why I told you to take it out. The blower fan housing won't come off with the lint screen in place. Once you have the panel off you will be able to access the blower fan, and anything else that as gotten trapped inside the housing. This would be a good time to clean as well. Reassembly in the reverse order of what I just explained to you. Good luck and I hope this helps you.
