Hi

Remove the fan housing. There you can see the coil.Follow those wires(2) towards the on/off switch.Replace that wire with a new one and start the engine.

I have a old homelite that won't start new plug fresh gas no spark

Most of the time on older engines, the carb needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Dont panic rebuilding is cheap an easy. The ports get clogged up sitting an varnish up. Try to clean out all orifices with small pieces of wire from steel or brass brush. Use carb cleaner to clean replace all gaskets an parts with kit. Dont forget to check fuel hose in tank they go bad often an should be replaced when carb work is done. Fresh gas an it should work

In side linkage plate thers a screen may b clogged, check this before adjusting carb. if carb needs ajusting turn in but dont over turn, back out 1/4 turn at first but no more than 1/2 turn.

Chainsaw dont run right

carb adjustment,hi circuit, bring it to max rpms then richen hi idle side til saw loses a small amount of rpm. This and a tad richer mix ratio will ensure a longer saw life.Use itasca as a chain oiler, never motor oil.

My homelite super 2 chainsaw keeps flooding. it was running fine and all of a sudden its flooding. any help is welcome

Needle valve in carb. maybe hung open. Or diaphragm may be bad. You will need to remove carb. and clean and replace all worn parts. Go to homelite.com to find manual for the saw.

Homelite 16'' chain saw runs rough and backfires

One of two things is wrong. This saw is so old I doubt it has electronic ignition. Pull the flywheel off and clean the points with carb cleaner and sand the contacts very, very lightly with super fine sandpaper or a little file. Second option, the coil is bad, take it to the shop and they should be able to test it for you.
