Question about Microwave Ovens

7 Answers

My microwave Sharp carousel Model R3A36 keypad is not working. You said in a different post that it would need a new control panel frame, which comes with the keypad. It is part # FPNLCB070WRK0. Questions: How did you get that number? Is this the actual keypad or the printed circuit behind it? Where would one find a disassembly manual for this model? I see in the parts stores that electronic parts are not refundable, and I dont want to get the wrong part.

I asked for a microwave expert, not a car emissions person. I could have given that answer. Not acceptable.

It is not necessarily the keypad, if the oven turns up it can also be the motor.

If caurosel does not turn and oven is completely irresponsive , then it is usually the control panel, but the part should be tested before replacing.

    Here is the part

Sharp carousel2 microwave convection model number r-8350 flashing but control panel won't work

Many parts for this model are long since no longer available, but many generic parts are available.

Chances are your control circuit board needs repair. After all these years, the electrolytic capacitors dry internally and that can cause bizarre symptoms.

I can repair your board, normally for $54.95, which includes insured return shipping, but if your membrane keypad is bad, it cannot be repaired.

For details and more free DIY and other help & advice, feel free to contact me directly.

Please include FULL model number*, FCC ID number*, + detailed symptom information.

Microwave wont heat

We would need to know the full model number from the tag in the cooking cavity or elsewhere on the microwave, such as the door frame, controller frame, etc.

Please post a new help request with that and more detailed symptoms, such as when it occurs.

When you hit "Start" to microwave, do the inside light, cooling fan, and turntable all come on?

Any unusual noises? Is it louder or quieter than usual?

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are operating here.

My sharp carousel II microwave no longer heats food. Do I need to buy a new one?

The problem maybe the magnetron, or the inverter board if 7 years old or less, and possibly the keypad control board, by the time you add parts and labour cheaper to replace the microwave oven in the long run.

Sharp Carousel Microwave - R1481 keypad doesn't work

No! I'am afraid not, the problem is in the keypad control board, the whole assembly must be replaced, the part alone will cost around $100.00 or more depending on make and model.

Your keypad has failed.

It would need a new control panel frame, which comes with the keypad.

You simply remove the circuit board and plug it into the new frame.

It is part # FPNLCB070WRK0 and the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.
