I have the same problem I downloaded music and the computer says it has music on my memory card but I can get anything on my phone..if I can't get music this way then the memory card is pointless for music..

I dont understand what that happened. My sd card was working fine until one day it decided not to load music...it would say, "no songs." I tried resetting my phone and I'm thinking could it be my SD card. I put the sd card into my friends LG VU and it worked fine but when i put it in my phone it doesn't load...so that means something is wrong with the phone. that just sucks. I'm still trying to figure out a way. Will keep everyone updated if I find a solution.

If you copied your music from itunes or another such program, it is in an mp4 format and/ or has embedded DRM (Digital Rights Management- that program that makes apple ****!!!!!!) . The phone will not recognize or play that format. The easiest solution is to Google "free mp3 wma converter" and there are free full versions that you don't have to pay for. Drag the songs off of your itunes into a new folder on your desktop named TO BE CONVERTED and then open the converter and load them on. Make sure you create another folder on your desktop named CONVERTED for the destination file for the converted songs before you convert them and be sure to select that path to save them to or you may never find them. Once done, drag them from the converted folder onto your phone or memory card, and you're all set. Good Luck!!!!!!!

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND KEPT ON MESSING WITH THE 4G MEMORY CARD AND FOUND OUT THAT I HAD TO FORMAT THE MEMORY CARD ON MY COMPUTER AND NOW IT READS THE CARD..ON THE SIDE OF THE SD ADAPTER HAS A SLIDING PIECE THAT SAVES YOU FROM DELETING THINGS ACCIDENTALLY BUT IF YOU SLIDE IT INTO THE MIDDLE POSITION THEN IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO FORMAT THE MEMORY CARD BUT YOU WILL LOSE WHATEVER THAT IS ON THE MEMORY CARD AND WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT ALL OVER AGAIN..I HOPE THIS IS CLEAR ENOUGH FOR EVERYBODY TO UNDERSTAND BUT THIS IS HOW I GOT MY MUSIC AND PICS ON THE MEMORY CARD

SOURCE: ring tones for my lg vu cu920

It must be under 300 kb.  Lame, I know, but that's the way it works.
If you want a ringtone for a specific contact, then your contacts must be kept on the phone, not the mem card, only.  I keep 'em both places, just in case.

Even if you have USB cord or bluetooth you should have some memory in your mobile to load music files. But you can extend your memmory using memory card. The list of memory cards available fo ryour model is seen here: http://www.accessorygeeks.com/lg-vu-cu920-memory-card.html

How to download music from pc to lg vu cu920?

You need a memory card for this- micro sd of up to 4 GB. Attach the phone to an LG data cable, and to a usb on your pc, The memory card will show up as a mass storage device, and you simply copy your muic files into the audio files of the card.

I have the usb cable for my lg vu model CU920. i don't have the memory card, how can i transfer ringtones.

Sadly, you do need a memory card to do this, and the ring tones must be smaller than 300 KB.

My 2 gig wont work in my lg cu920

No, most of it has to do with the formatting of the memory card.  My suggestion woud be to transfer everything to you computer, then format the card using the phone.  Then copy the information into the folders on the memory card.  Please not as far as ring tones go, ring tones will only work on the phone that was used to download them.  This is due to digital rights management information embedded in the ringtone.
