Re: connection of laptop to sony dav-s400
Not unless there is a vga connection or a s video connection on the unit. if so s video cable male to male should work then you have to go into the video card settings on the laptop by right clicking the desktop and selecting porpeties. then adjust settings to transfer image from laptop to tv

Your Sony DAV-DZ330 will play DVD video to your TV via HDMI (preferred method) or via SCART (analog video and sound) but you will not be able to connect another video player into your Sony since it does not have any video inputs.
Dont know how old this question is but came across it so thought i would offer up some assistance.
the way that i would recommend is using a digital optical cable to join the bluray to the home theatre system (this offers the best quality sound) and then you simply change the audio input on your sony. you can get a decent cable for around £10 online.
Hope this helps,
The problem i had was when i would play my tv. I had it hooked from my dish to the sony then the tv. When i played a dvd,cd or the tuner it didn't make that noise. It seems my video/audio 2 channel was going bad. I disconnected my rca jacks and used the optical audio connection. The noise stopped and i got a better quality sound.
