The evaporator tray (more like a box) is located at the rear. It is open to the rear. It sits on top of the motor. It is almost impossible to clean it without lifting it out first, but it does not lift out easily. It may be fastened to the motor, though I cannot see where it might be attached and I do not see why it would be attached. The evaporator tray (more like a box) is located at the rear. Hi, I'm not familiar with these fridges, but is it possible to access it from the back, underneath the evaporator tray? It could even be that the milk has gone down the drain hole and into the evaporator tray itself. Its a small flat plastic tray that has raised sides, and will probably have water in in, sits just above the motor
Have you checked evaporator fins/coils at front to see if it is those that are frosting up and need cleaning? Also make sure return air and cool air aren't mixing. If some cool air is getting in to return air, from other side, it will cause condensation as well. Some older models did suffer from cracks in drip tray as well. That requires removing cover on top and looking and sealing cracks in plastic drip tray under evaporator and condensor etc. Sometimes it works . Clean well and use good sealant if that's the problem.
syringe out drain hole/pipe with clorine bleach(clorine will gas off and leave no smell after an hour or so)clean out tray with bleach,as it will kill the bacteria that causes the smell, the higher the himidity the more often you will need to clean drain/tray.(any clean water in tray ,use to feed your house plants,
Yes, usually the tray can be removed for cleaning. You will have to pull the fridge out, unplug power, remove the rear access cover. Then you should see the evaporator / condensate tray and how to remove it.
Richard you have to check if your car uses to filter the air-conditioning closed the lid of the engine and where the breeze is a clean-clean grill before you turn off your air off the compressor and that was only working to remove the blower evaporator at all moisture-check that you have good drainage evaporator vote you all that water. Thanks and good luck
criss nedd more ininfo but yes the pan ca nbe remove for cleaning but not all the time the wtr that collects there will evaporate and is neeed too since the condensor fan uses it to cool the compressor but yes you can remove is a top frezeer try from back but if a side by side then you need to tilt it to one side to remove the screwa that hold it in place
I have just removed the drip tray from my fridge freezer and it was relatively easy.
Do not remove the compressor unit.
The drip tray is held in place by a metal clasp which is welded to the top of the compressor. The clasp is a flat piece of metal which must physically twisted to align with the key way in the plastic drip tray. I used thin pair of pliers to grip the clasp and twist it clockwise to line up with the tray key way. The tray then has to be carefully manouvred off the compressor so as not to cause damage or spill it foul smelling contents. This I managed to achieve fairly easily.
Clean out and install then twist the clasp to clamp the tray into position. I don't know what would happen if you didnt lock the tray back in position as it does not seem capable of falling off on its own and it would be easier to remove next time.
