If you do not know the device codes for a device, or if you've tried all the listed device codes for your device and none of them work, you can search for the correct device code by following the steps below.
Note: These steps only apply to the Philips RC 144 Remote Control. If this is not the make and model of your remote, go to the supported remote control models page and find the instructions for your specific remote control.
Searching for a Device Code
Turn on the device you want to program into your remote, for example if you are programming your remote to control your TV, then turn on the TV.
Press and hold the device button for the device you turned on in step 1 (DVD, AUX, TV, STB) and press OK. Release both buttons.
The mode buttons blink twice.
Point the remote control toward the device you are setting up and press the upper part of thePlay button.
Press the Fast Forward button. If the device you are setting up does not turn off, keep pressing the Fast Forward button until the device powers off. (You can use the Rewind button to go back, if necessary.)
When the device powers off then you've found the correct code for that device. Press OK to assign the code in your remote control.
Note: There are over 200 possible combinations for TV and DVD codes. The most common codes are tried first but you may still need to press the Fast Forward or Rewind buttons over 200 times to find the correct code for your device.
If you reach the end of the list of codes, the entire remote flashes twice and returns to normal operation. You can exit programming at any time by pressing the Exit button.

"Cable and Satellite content providers control the remote codes, and we apologize for any confusion during the remote programming. Please try the following codes 10019, 0178, 10178, 0030, 10030, 0835, 10835, or for Dish Network try 627, 659 or 505. For Fios TV (Verizon), try the code 3264. These codes may not work on some universal remotes. If there is another code listed for ARIO in your universal remote control guide, please try that code. Refer to the Remote Control Guide under your TV's model number for more information".
program the remote to control tv volume by
1. Press and hold the STB key.
2. While holding down the STB key, press OK.
3. Release both keys. The Device Keys will blink twice.
4. Press 9 - 5 - 5. The STB key will blink twice.
5. Press TV. The TV key will blink 3 times to indicate success in programming.
try the remote after that . if the volume still doesn't work check to see if there is another code that also works with your TV. (on my Sony TV one code works everything while another code only turns it on and off. for my Epson S3 the remote will not work with it at all.)
here is the manual for the remote: http://www22.verizon.com/NROneRetail/NR/rdonlyres/2DEF67C9-87F0-4B46-B1BD-A40472BC281A/0/PhilipsRC144RemoteControlUserGuide.pdf
I would hook the harmony back up to your computer and the update the remote. If that does not fix the problem then I would down load the firmware and then update your remote. If you still have problem I would manually teach the power command (Learn) to the harmony remote.Harmony calls this “Learn command” It’s a button in the lower right corner while in the “customize button” tab. Hope this helps
You can use your own SAMSUNG remote but some of the guide options and dvr buttons may not come across. If your remote allows you to 'map' the buttons you could circumvent the issue.
Another suggestion would be the universal remote by harmony. great gadget. pricey though.
Go on the Verizon website and request a new remote, the Verizon P265 Remote model. It will have all the newest firmware and it should have the code. I know this because I had a TCL 32" TV and the code wasn't on my old Philips RC 1445302 model. TV and new remote are "talking" just fine now. Verizon won't even want the old one back.
