Question about Denon AVR-1705 Receiver
I've just tried routing my DVD Player's video output through my Denon AVR-1705 and no matter what I do, I can't get a video signal on my TV.
When I tried setting the "Video Input Mode" in the device setup, I was surprised to see that it was missing. Instead of having settings: "19 DVD", "20 TV" and "21 VCR", my AVR-1705 has "19 AUTOSURR." (?!)
I should also mention that I wired the DVD both as S-Video and as Video (yellow jack) to the DVD input on the unit. And that I wired my TV to the Component output (Monitor).
Why are the video settings missing from the setup? Could this explain why I can't get the unit to route video to my TV?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I think I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this. So far what I have figured out is that it does not upscale. So its likely that to have component out, you need component in. But I don't see any video setting options as well. I have a feeling that somehow Denon was selling an AVR w/o the video options turned on or for some reason the circuitry has switched off.

What you need to do is connect all your devices to the Denon Using the best connections (Yellow Video=OK, S-Video=good, Component green-red-blue=better and HDMI=best. if you do not have a DVD that upconverts to 1080i or p when using HDMI, I would use component cables where available from your devices to the Denon other wise use the next best connection available and if connecting digital audio make a chart of all connection so you can setup everything when your ready for programming the Denon
