Question about Dell Dimension 3000 PC Desktop
Yes, hello. I have this problem with my Dell Dimension 3000, and that is this screen that appears after the Splash Screen. I don't get it it says there are 2 versions of Windows XP. I don't know when this screen started to come up, but it's getting on my nerves. I am also trying to restore my Windows XP computer, and when I hit Ctrl+F11, nothing happens it moves on to this screen. If I hit ENTER on one of the choices it will start up my computer again. The keyboard works fine, the computer is in good shape, I just want to restore my computer, and I bet it won't go to the restore mode because of this selection screen. I tried the Startup options and it didn't give me a choice on how to get rid of this screen or to the restore mode. How can I get rid of this screen, and how can I restore my Dell Dimension 3000 Windows XP Home Edition?
Ctrl+ F11 Pc restore option is not available on Dimension 3000 it was launched from Dimension 8400 model so you are not doing the right thing already. coming to the two os option there have been two entries createdin the boot.ini which is why you see two options please check which one works 1st or the second if you wanna get rid of this please do the following:
open my computer properties window
start>my computer (right click)
step 2: click advanced>settings under startup and recovery and uncheck the option time to display the list after selecting the appropriate os entry from the drop down.
Now if you could also clarify why you want to restore I cud give you the correct option to do so

Boot up goto my computer right click goto properites click advanced tab find start up and recovery click settings click edit delete one you dont use normally bottom line and you wont see that screen no more

UIt looks like your Hard drive was partition at some point and you have same operating system installed on both partitions. Use a partition software like Partition Magic or else to delete on of the patition to stop having this screen.

Seems you want to reinstall. pleasego to the dell support site which is
www.support.dell.com and select technical troubleshooting put yourservice tag and proceed with the option that says help with software, backup and restore. this will give you system specific also ensureyou select manual reinstallation of windows b'coz your system model doesn't support PCrestore.
