Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

Cannot browse from laptop with my bblackberry 7100

WHEN CONNECTED TO THE LAPTOP THE BLACKBERRY DOES NOT RECOGNISE THE LAPTOP. SEND TO ME THE USB SOFTWARE OR A RIM THAT WILL PERMIT BROWSING THROUGH THE LAPTOP. THE PHONE IS PRESENTLY CONNECTED.

Try Solution - First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

To connect up a tablet with a laptop you need to connect them with a USB cable.

On plugging in the cable with the tablet powered up, you should see two things.

1. A question on the tablet as to whether you want to use memory disc mode or diagnostic(ADB) mode. Choose Memory disc mode.

2. You should see on the PC laptop it recognise that an external device is connected, it may recognise it as a phone or a memory drive.

If neither of these things is happening it is probably the cable at fault.

The tablet should then start providing the pc laptop with the drivers it requires to be recognised. If this does not happen, then the fault is with the tablet and you have to consult your supplier.

You should end up with at least one memory drive which you can browse through with the PC's file manager. The data will be on the tablet.

My Bold 2 9700 smartphone is showing blank screen with the message reload software 513. Also, the phone is not connecting to the desktop manager eith using the USB cable or through the Bluetooth.


Force a reset by loading version 5 desktop software on your laptop first and then connecting the BlackBerry to it. It may take some time for your pc to recognise that the BlackBerry is plugged in, so be patient!
When it connects, reload the firmware.

My blackberry 7290 gives error 507 with a circle at the top

You will receive the following Java error 507 message on your BlackBerry smartphone while using the application loader tool to install or upgrade the BlackBerry Device Software.

Cause 1:
This might occurs while using the application loader tool to install BlackBerry Device Software, existing applications on the BlackBerry smartphone are erased, and new applications are not loaded.

To resolve this error you need to complete the following steps:
  1. Verify that you have the BlackBerry Device Software installed on your computer.
  2. If your BlackBerry smartphone is connected to a laptop computer in a docking station, disconnect the laptop computer from the docking station and connect the BlackBerry smartphone directly to the laptop computer.
  3. If a third-party program, such as a virus scanner, is using the same communications port (COM port) as BlackBerry® Desktop Manager, close the third-party program to free the COM port for use.
  4. If you are using a USB adapter to connect your BlackBerry smartphone to a serial port on your computer, temporarily connect your BlackBerry smartphone to a computer with a USB port.
  5. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click the Application Loader icon.
