there is an area under the track ball that goes bad if it get's wet. Cleaning that area with a brush can sometime get it up and running again. try to remove the trackball and clean the area below it if necessary. There is a Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to open a Blackberry and remove the track ball yourself.

If you still have your old phone, remove the battery and there should be a card underneath (about the size of a thumbnail). Put it into your new phone and you'll have all of your contacts, pictures, etc. or put it into a different phone, temporarily, and then copy them over.

If not I believe there isn't a way to retrieve them.

I have the same problem, and I went to the shop, and they couldn't do much, and even if I sent my phone in, it would cost 170 pounds, basically a new phone. Anyway, it wasn't working for about 3 weeks, until i put the smallest amount of water onto the phone, and it worked perfectly. I turned it off to charge, and when I came back, it wouldn't work again? I'm so confused and need help

My blackberry curve 8330 keyboard is locked up. dont know how this happened. ball moves curser up and down on the facepage but will not work when i press the keys. the screen goes black in a few seconds...

the keyboard on the device isnt registering the key clicks because either the keyboard isnt pressing down all the way or the circuit board that the keyboard belongs to is malfunctioning. If it is that, parts for the phone is available on ebay.

I have recently purchased a Sony Ericsson Xperia mobile phone. To enable more security I put a pattern sequence into the phone and you are unable to access the phone whilst the pattern sequence is on....

  1. Turn off your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
  2. Remove the battery and replace it back in
  3. Press and hold down the left and right silver buttons just under the screen
  4. With the stylus, press in the hole on the right side of the battery
  5. After 10 seconds, you will be prompted to press the R key on your slide-out keyboard
  6. If successful press the Space key on your slide-out keyboard to finalize changes

Blackberry cell phone got wet; won't work

It sound like the circuitry in your keyboard got fried. If your lucky and the damage isn't severe, the techs at you phone provider's store may be able to fix it.

good luck

Our wireless keyboard just quit working, any

Since you have already changed the batteries I assume, is there a receiver sensor that is plugged into your tower via USB connection? Make sure it is plugged in tight, and the receiver is in plane sight of the keyboard and try again.

Blackberry curve got wet

if nothing is working, then you need to go to your carrier and either get it fixed or they might replace it... dont tell them its water damage though.

Can receive calls and texts but none of my buttons are working, I mean none. I can't answer calls or even turn on/off the phone. Could this be my battery is no good?

This usually means your keyboard is defective.

First try installing the OS on the phone either reinstall the old os or try and upgraded version.

A.) Remove the battery, Plug in( if keyboard still does not work try the following:
1.) Applications
2.) Options
3.) General settings

Note: your phone may have a different os than I pulled the above information from just try to get to general settings and then hit blackberry button for wipe handheld option. Don't forget to backup your contacts etc before doing this.

Depress the blackberry button (button with all the dots on it) then select wipe hand held. Be careful as this will erase possibly everything on the handheld

If none of the above work to get your keypad working it will need physical repair.

How do I change the SIM card in my BB Pearl 8130

Take SIM card out of old phone and put it into the new phone, however first of all you need to backup your old device.

Download the Desktop Manager and connect via USB cable and backup old handset, insert usb into new phone and restore to new phone thus moving all data from old to new.

Buttons on the curve not responding.

Im seriously upset for no reason I am getting the same problem. Out of nowhere all my buttons don't work but my trackball scrolls. When I put the battery out and in it takes me to the menu where I can scroll until it fades away but I can't select anything. Menu also appears when I plug in the charger but soon to fade away. None of the buttons work including the voice command or volume etc. My phone was never wet I take very good care of it and the little sticker behind the battery is white. It happened one time earlier this week and I was able to resolve it by removing the battery and rebooting it several times. Now I am stuck in the middle of nowhere at an oil rig with no cell phone. I will be sure to tell my service provider how upset I am about this and I'm not sure I will be getting another Blackberry at all after this kind of **** happens. My RAZR worked great for years not a single issue.
