Question about Gaggia Syncrony Compact Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine

The red water light on my gaggia syncrony won't go off despite the fact the water container is filled to the brim. I have the same problem. I first did a descaling process and the light went off. I then did an expresso cycle, beans were ground as normal and at first the coffee was dispensed fine and then came to a slow drip. At the same time it seemed like there appeared the machine was grinding to get the coffee through. The red light (#27) came back on and the cycle stopped. I dispensed some water from the #16 and the light went off. I tried the expresso cycle again and the same thing happened. I know I descaled correctly. Could it be a dirty grinding mechanism? Thanks

Have you tried descaling more than once? Scale is difficult to remove and often requires several cleaning cycles to get cleaned from floats and sensors. It may require some disassembly in order to get to any moving parts (if there are any.).

The water level sensor is most likely defective, these level sensors are very temperamental little parts, replace it.

Check the float in the tank that indicates the water level to the sensor. They often fail to float, solution is to either replace the tank or jam something plastic under the float to lift it to the top of its slot.

Gaggia syncrony logic not dispensing water. Just drops pods and red light comes on. have cleaned brew unit shower screen and dispenser tube. still have the problem


Lubricate the brew unit with a food safe grease this should help.
The brew unit becomes stiff and fail to load up fully this stops the water being dispensed

Hi, Our Gaggia machine will not disburse water through coffee dispenser. Sounds like its operating normally till water flow should happen. Then the motor slows down to nothing. Have descaled to no effect....


Try this press the button for ground coffee then when it lights up press the coffee brew button, if water flows normally then the grind on the grinder needs to be adjusted coarser, if no water then the screen on the brew unit is blocked.

Brand new Gaggia Syncrony Compact will not pump water. Red light no. 27 flashes, and machine makes sounds as if trying to pump.


Open the hot water valve, if it flows for a second and stops, then pusi in on the knob if that works, call up support and ask for a new stainless steel valve for your machine.

Low water light stays on


If water light and heating lights go on and off, Try this: Fill water, turn water nozzle on, let water flow out. Water light should go off. Shut off water.
If coffee lights are solid, turn off the machine, let it cool off and try the above again.

GAGGIA syncrony compact coffee grinder motor is


Remove the brew unit and to the left of that is the the discharge area for the grinder, make sure that hole is clear, then adjust grind 1 number coarser, and check machine.

There are two possible conditions that result in the error code you describe (steady red light)

(1) the coffee bean bin being empty, (or that sensor thinks that it's empty) and

(2) the water level sensor thinking there's not enough water in the reservoir. Either sensor may be damaged or is registering a false return due to some condition in the machine.

If there's absolutely nothing blocking/affecting the sensors, then there are three logical possibilities that occur to me.

1) Damaged sensor - shouldn't be an issue if you used an accepted descaling chemical and otherwise followed the manual.
2) Faulty sensor - is it still under-warranty?
3) Control panel is bad (warranty?).

If I can be of further assistance, let me know, and include as much detail as possible (you should be able to load digital pictures onto this space using the toolbar above).

Try to make a cup of water, if you only can get a half cup then the flowmeter has to be replaced.

Gaggia Syncrony does not get past the grind cycle


Water has probably been spilt in the beans area. The grinder needs cleaning out along with the chute
