So I just bought a 3150 from ebay that wont take a charg....e. Stuck in another fully charged battery (from with a dead 3150 I was using for parts) ant the middle charging lightwont come on at all. on the broken unit the middle light flashes whie charging stays solid when fuly charged (that mobo is pysically damaged SMT chips ,no POST no BIOS but will charge the heck out of a battery)

windows can tell if there is a battery plugged in or not. Always shows "charging 0%". Any ideas? I'm handy with a soldier gun anyone got schems for this beast?
Go to radioshack and pick up a new plugh for your computer this happens OFTEN with averatecs they do not mix with jolts it most likley got an impact while being shipped and broke it free

reread and forgot this:
if not plugged into ac power, cmos/system time goes to to 11/19/1999 so I am assuming power not getting from battery to motherboard....
By plug you mean AC adapter? Or dc jack on motherboard? I tried other AC adapter (same voltage/amps/polarity/plug tip) with same result.(powers laptop fine, will not charge battery at all).
If you mean DC Jack on MB, looked at it looks solid connected to MB. resoldiered (remelted existing solder) all connections to mb incase of micro cracks... thanks for the input. still same situation however I did replace the cmos battery to prevent cmos reset every time I unplug.
