DO NOT ASSUME BECAUSE THE REFRIGERATOR IS WARM THAT IT IS LOW ON CHARGE.

More refrigerators are ruined, or lives are shortened, because people work on the most reliable aspect of the appliance.

Please get a thermometer and reply back with the temperature readings of both the refrigerator and the freezer. Both readings are important as they help to give an idea of what is wrong.

Also, look up for the louver holes in the rear panel of the freezer and note if you see crusty accumulations of frost or ice. You may also look behind the fan as well. Look hard as this is important to know to help diagnose the problem.

Reply back and we can help you further.
Oh, and you might be able to recharge the system, but this usually requires special tools do it right.

Either the thermostat which is an electical component that is adjusted by the temperature control, has a problem, or you refigeratnt (freon) is low and will have to be recharged by repairman. Also NOTE that you should keep your coils free of dust and debrit. just cleaning the coils can make a big difference.

The charge is fine, if the charge was the issue, your freezer wouldn't be cold. the thermostat is integrated within the control panel. it has a receive rod that is ran along the side panels to read the temp. it then sends the temp to the controller which is malfunctioning.

Check the thermostat to make sure that it is operating properly, take a wire and jump it out. You can also check to make sure that the fan is running. That would probably be the easier of the two to check first. If the fan is not spinning then it will need to be replaced

My side by side 23.6 cu. ft. no frost refrigerator is not freezing and the refrigerator is not getting cold enough. There's frost on the back wall inside freezer. It's a GE TFX24VR. What can I

usually that means your fridge thermostat is being blocked by items in your fridge, telling the cooling system to shut down. If your fridge and freezer are packed, the fridge might protect itself by shutting down the cooling system. Happened to us last Thanksgiving.

The freezer section of the fridge works but the regular side is not cooling sufficient enough to keep the food from perishing quickly

Possible that the vent is getting choked wwith frost and so the fan is not able to blown well tothe fridge to keep the temperature up.
So the possible failure of the defrost timer / heater or the thermostat is possible which might make the compressor to keep running and the frost to build up.

Trubleshoot refrigerator staying cold enough

First review the troubleshooting steps in the instruction manual. Check the freezer and frige temperature setting control knobs. Make sure the fan, coils, compressor etc. are clean. Check the door seals, especially at the bottom. If all that does not work, do some more online research (which is what I'm up to right now because I am faced with the same problem).
