Question about Proscan 26LB30QD 26 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

Sound quality poor

I have a digital cable box; my old tv had great sound. The sound from the Proscan has a constant slight hum and is in mono. I cannot figure out how to enable stereo and or eliminate the hum.

I purchased a ProScan 26LB30QD TV. It is in a bedroom, and therefore there is only a coaxial cable plugged in the back of the tv (no other cables, no digital box...). When I setup the channels, it asks for me to choose Air, Cable, Cable HRC, Cable IRC or Cable Auto (what do I choose??).

Additionally, once it completed channel set up, some channels are clear and have good sound. Others look bad and the sound is horrible (there is a constant buzzing). Actual channel numbers come up on the screen weird as well (instead of channel 8, it has channel 51 - 8)? Please help anyone!

Try moving the audio and video cables to a different input.
Or the cables maybe bad. That's what happen to me.

LG 55LS4500 55 in. TV has sound through speakers, no audio except a hum from headphones and the optical digital to analog output fiber lights up but no sound output What board is bad?

Hi Louis,
The audio circuitry is located in the main board. Try unplugging the TV for a while and try again if the audio comes back.
I would suggest to check all your settings in the audio section first and if everything seems OK then the main board should be replaced.

I need a diagram showing how to connect the Digital Media Theater to the speakers and computer

i have found some posts on your speakers very nice anyway hope this helps
Just found an RCA to mono mini adapter and rca cable, plugged it in, and it works great. I notice a very slight difference in sound, for the better.

It's a digital cable, stereo/mono don't apply. It should be a single 75 ohm coaxial cable. Not a tip ring sleeve stereo cable. Any old RCA coax cable (with the appropriate 1/8 in. mini mono adapter) should work.
I attached a picture of the back, it is blurry, but you can at least see what it is. (top right jack)

Poor sound quality

Hi, I sent an email regarding the issue to OnCorpus (the company who makes ProScan)

This is what I got back:

---------------------------
Thomas,
Follow these steps to correct humming issue:
1. Turn tv on
2. Input mode should be tv
3. Turn volume to zero
4. With remote enter 9 8 7 6
5. A menu will appear on left side
6. Arrow down to backlight and with right arrow key move number from 81 to 83, press menu button twice,
7. Turn up volume and listen if hum is gone.

I can't confirm if this works at this moment since I don't have access to my TV.

Proscan tv surround sound hook up

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.

If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

I have a Vizio 42' and a cable box and there's a constant humming

I think I had the same problem. This is how I fixed it.

I have my vizio 42 hooked up to a Harmon Kardon surround sound, and the digital cable box. Essentially, I can adjust the volume 3 ways - through the tv, cable box or av receiver. The humming sound happens when you have the volume maxed out on the av receiver and not the cable box.

For example, the sound level on my Harmon Kardon goes from -10 (lowest) to 10 (loudest), with 0 being the middle ground. The buzzing was happening when the Harmon Kardon was set to 10, and I was using the cable box volume to adjust the sound. To fix it, I turned down the volume on my receiver to 0, which may be about 50% max volume of the receiver. Then, I switched devices and used the volume on my cable box. This got rid of the static I was getting. Hope that helps.

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.

Proscan to Bang and Olauffson sound system

FDirstly, you should not connect your TV to a Sound System. If you desire to listen to your Broadcast TV , and enhance the listening experience,I suggest you use the Audio L & R outputs of your Cable Box to your Sound System AUX IN , and Video Out to the TV's Video IN socket. Then you will recieve a better picture and a enhanced sound quality. But just directly connecting the TV's Audio Out to the Sound System will make scarcely any difference.
