Question about Canon MultiPASS C530 InkJet Printer
I have a canon multipass c530..didn't use if for several years. bought new cartridges for it and i get an error message. ( photo ink in use) and it won't print, or copy. i have cleaned the heads, nozzles, and rollers. no luck. used these same cartridges for years. any suggestions?
The only reason for getting error "PU IN CARTRIDGE" is that the cartridge is not installed correctly. Follow these steps to reinstall the cartridge which will resolve the problem:
Note: The same step can be performed for error "photo ink in use" but if this does not resolve the issue, you can try and change the cartridge.
Installing / Replacing the BJ Cartridge Follow this procedure to replace the BJ cartridge:
1. Make sure the MultiPASS is plugged in.
2. Open the document tray.
3. Lift the document guides to open the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
If the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) does not open easily, slide the document guides outward and then open the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
Or slide the Document Feed Lever to either the automatic or manual setting.
4. Press. If installing the BJ Cartridge for the first time, skip to step 6.
Caution: Do not try to manually move or stop the cartridge holder since this may damage the unit. Do not touch the components shown or any metal parts since this may adversely affect operation of the unit and/or affect print quality.
The MultiPASS has an automatic protection feature that helps keep it from overheating. If the cartridge holder does not move, unplug the MultiPASS and let it cool for several minutes. Tcolor cartridge errors - thingtopress.gifgain.

Note: If you need to unplug the MultiPASS, wait until the unit is in standby mode (date and receive mode displayed in the LCD). Otherwise the cartridge holder may not be in its home position causing the BJ cartridge to remain uncapped and dry out.
