Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items called capacitors on the board that the power cord is hooked to.If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should get it working again. Most of the time the big black capacitor on the power board goes bad,and bottom bulges out,but sometimes it is the other capacitors as well.I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!

Settin TV to AV

Look at your remote for a button called "input options" and press that button while watching your screen to see the various choices available. Everytime you press that button, you should see a change on the screen from one choice of input method to the other. It should says things like "AUX, video 1, video 2, hdmi, AV - ect. Keep pressing that button until you see a picture of find the AV input method you want to keep and that should solve your problem.

All of a sudden my tv went black. when it is turned on it only stays ups for a couple of seconds long enough to see polaroid then it goes black. power light stays on. Whats wrong?

It is either the backlight inverter circuits went out or it not getting the 12v from the power supply section. Open it up and look for bad caps first, then take some voltage reading, you should have 5v (for Logic circuits), 12v (for inverter and sound). from the power supply section. http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Bad%20capacitors/

Black screen and whistles

Sorry to say that it sounds like the high voltage went out on that one. The sound that you hear is probably the high voltage arcing across the flyback transformer. Dont try to make any repairs here. The unit has at least 25,000 volts in there. Even long after it has been unplugged. I'm not sure what size TV that is from the description, but you would be looking at replacing the main deflection board, which may well exceed the value of it.
