Slow connection with Broadcom Netxtreme 57xx gigabit

I have a 20Mb broadband connection. My main PC is a Dell Optiplex GX520 with Broadcom netxtreme 57xx ethernet. I also have an IBM T60 laptop.
I get an average ''speedtest.net'' dowload speed of 18000kb/s on the laptop but only an average of 1200kb/s on my PC. That's almost 17000kb/s difference.
I've tried updating all drivers and firmwear but no change.

Can someone help... PLEASE!!

Sounds like it might be a flakey NIC.

I cannot install ethernet driver of hp compaq d530. Where can i find it?

Hello: I hope the following information is helpful.
If you are trying to install the driver for the Broadcom ethernet NIC that was pre-installed (NOT an ethernet card that you purchased and installed yourself), there is a softpack (updated driver installation) download available from HP/Compaq. It will install the driver automatically for you, just download it from the link below and run the ".exe" file.
IMPORTANT: Check to be sure that your current Operating System, and model of the network device you are trying to install, are BOTH listed below BEFORE you download!
This is a software / driver update for the HP Compaq d530 ultra-slim desktop: All Models

Dell Optiplex 745 desktop will not connect to internet

Most desktops need to be connected with a wire to your network because most desktop computers do not come with a wireless NIC (network interface card). If you are not sure if yours has one you can get your service tag off of your computer and type it in the Dell website (link below) under drivers and downloads and look at the original configuration for your system. If you have a Wireless NIC card in your desktop it should connect just like your laptop computers did. If not you may have a defective wireless card.

Ethernet controller

Hello,

More than likely this is the one that you need. It is for a Broadcom NIC. If that one doesn't work, they have this one for a Gigabit NIC listed here. I would start withe the integrated NIC divers. Both files have download instructions on the page if you need it.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

Firstly, try resetting the modem (switch off, then back on). Make sure it re-connects to the line normally. Then try broadband again.

Slow connection with broadcom netxtreme 57xx

Hi,

Pls try running a network tweak such as DrTCP and/or TCPOptimizer. Additionally, you may want to re-check/re-configure your anti-virus and determine if it is in anyway hampering your network connection.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
