1997 Toyota Camry Lost All Battery Power

I drove home and turned my camry off but the started stayed engaged. I disconnected the battery and it killed all power. I went out the next day and reconnected it to see what was going on. The car died and now I have no power what so ever. no lights no horn no wipers nothing! The battery is fine and charged. Is there a main fuse? Where do I need to look?

I would check your main battery terminals to make sure they are not loose. Sometimes, even when you have reconnected them properly they may not be tight enough to make a good electrical connections...I have seen it a million times and I have also been a victim myself :) If you shake them and they swivel at all that may be your problem. Sometimes another way to tell is if you can move them around and the car starts one time, then later that day or sometime down the road the car wont start again this is a sign that the connection is your problem. You should definately try this first, then go from there.

Don't know exactly what you about your battery, but it sounds like the problem that you experienced was the stater staying engaged. This in turn probably did drain the battery if you where not able to get the battery disconnected.

Drove it home everything was ok! went out the next

sounds like a broken timing belt, timing belts like to break during engine cranking and engine shut down. there are inspection holes in the timing cover,if you can't determine, remove top half of timing cover and check belt for slap,if there's slap,it's broke.

My 89 camry stalled on me and know it wont start.

No clicking mean no power to the solenoid to engage the contact for the starter. If starter is not turning, you will not have spark. It stalled when you drove since not power to turn on the Electronic Fuel injection so you don't have gas. Now you don't have electric to your starter, then I suggest that you have some one to check ECM before starting replacing Starter, Fuel Injection...

Hi Mike
Try lightly tapping the starter with a spanner and at the same time turning the key to start, if it starts you need the starter overhauled.
