Replacement batteries were installed but were not Powerware brand. The brand put in is DataSafe P/N of Powerware is PWHR12120W3FR and I need the cross reference to the DataSafe type.

I don't know the exact cross reference number for you but Eaton tech support should be able to help you. Eaton bought Powerware 6 years ago but retained their service support personnel.

How should i connect four batteries in two batteries microtek ups

You should connect them parallel too to the other two parallel batteries.
While connecting, make sure you are connecting all blocks in parallel wirth the correct polarities. Also once all the batteries are connected measure the battery voltage at the UPS terminal and make sure it is around 12V

Blinking lights

The problem is, is that while the unit is not overloaded (too much plugged in) either the batteries are close to failure, OR more likely you have so much plugged in you have less than 2 minutes of runtime.

Try removing some devices, lower the load. The row of green lights on the left is your load level indication, you want no more than 4 lit usually, 80% load is the most recommended. This will allow more runtime and should stop the flashing.

The flashing is just ment to alert you to less than two minutes of runtime.

If you have 80% load or less, and it still flashes, press and hold the on/test button until it clicks over to battery, the unit will now run a self test and switch back to main power after a few seconds and it should stop blinking.

Common Failure mode of APC 500 UPS

I would recommend replacing APC UPSs with ONEAC ONEPlus Power Conditioned UPSs, which have a perfect ground reference, longer lasting and more reliable batteries, and a 5 Year Warranty (2 Yrs on Batteries).
