Why can't I put gas in my 2001 Chrystler LHS

Sheryl, most the time when the gas spits back and turns the gas pump off, then there's either a restricted or damaged line going to the gas tank or the valve on the tank is stuck closed. Here what you need to do but, UNDERSTAND I do not know if your vehicle falls under the extended warranty for the gas tank. You'll need to call one of the Chrysler Dealerships and give them your VIN Number and ask them if your vehicle is covered under the extended warranty for the gas tank not filling properly. If it is covered then make an appointment to get it done because if its covered it want cost you anything out of pocket. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Sheryl.

sound like problem with the EVAP SYSTEM.HAVE CHECK OUT. trick to pumping gas dont stick fuel spout all the way in hold it back a little then pump gas the gas vapors stored in fuel tank stopping you from pumping gas.hold spout back pump gas.

After engine has cooled, put water in the radiator if you can, not the overflow bottle.
Antifreeze raining down - sounds like a water pump leak, or other SERIOUS leak, in a rubber hose, etc. You can ruin the engine if it overheats! Guage will not work with no water in the engine. Have reliable mechanic check it ASAP

You may have a problem with the fuel tank vent valve. This lets air into the tank as you use fuel and allows air out of the tank as you refill with fuel. If the valve is plugged or stuck shut the fuel nozzle will kick off as you try to refill the tank because the fuel can't get through the fill neck and into the tank as fast as it's being pumped in and will back up high enough to kick the nozzle off. It is located in the relay and Maxi fuse box under the hood near the battery, both the fuel pump fuse and relay are in this box, the fuel pump fuse is a 20Amp and is marked #10, the fuel pump relay is is marked as relay #301.

There is also a fuel pump cutoff switch (triggered by an accident exceeding 3 G's)

The fuel pump shut-off switch is

located in the passenger's foot well,
by the kick panel.

Evap System--Vent Valve

check the filler neck. the hose may have a kink in it. also check the return line it may be pluged.

Torx bit,for cover on the center manifold black cover. 5/8 spark plug socket and rachet and extension bar3/8 drive. Lift out spark plug wires there is a long tube going to plugs.
