Techko Model SH2006PB

Shredder will not accept paper. We already tried the small knife in the feed slot. It is no longer jammed. Thank you.

I am writing you again because we just changed our e-mail address today.

SOURCE: Infoguard shredder jam

When you set it to reverse, it Should propel the paper back out the top, where it's jammed. If it does not, remove power to the unit, and get ready for the long laborious process of removing the jam with a pair of tweezers. A hazard of paper shredders, maintenance can be a bit on the silly side.

SOURCE: Shredding paper partially

Your cutters have spread apart this could be caused by overloading machine to many times or something may have cracked internally that held them in place.

SOURCE: Ran hesitantly for 4 or 5 shreds Then would not shut off.

The feed switch located in the feed slot is jammed, you may be able to clear it with a small knife or screw driver.(just make sure to unplug the unit first)

SOURCE: Shredder does not pull in paper to be shredded

If it doesn't accept the paper, more than likely the gear coming off of the motor has broken teeth. I think for this model you have to call the manufacturer. Good Luck!

Techko shredder model #SH4205PD. The shredder stopped working. After unpluggung it and sliding the switch back and forth a couple of times it worked. Now it has quit working again. what coulf be the...

The micro switch referred to is to triggers from the presence of a piece of paper in the slot when on 'Automatic'. If this is stuck in the closed position it will easily be verified by placing a piece of paper in the accepting slot on the top of the machine. If it turns on it is stuck in the closed position. These shredders obviously get quite dirty and may simply need cleaning. Be Very Careful when working on any shredder! Also. the slide switch while basic in design has a number of wires on 8 poles and could also be the problem. As well if you these machines are protected by a thermal cut-off circuit if you overworked it give it sufficient time to cool down and reset. These are the most probably things to look at however, more in depth Dx may be necessary.
Good luck.

Shredder not working

Though I only work with Fellowes shredders this sounds like a paper feed sensor issue. If your unit has a mechanical paper feed sensor you can try to jiggle it in and out to see if any paper may have become jammed behind switch. If the unit has an electronic sensor it may simply need to be cleaned with a Qtip dipped in rubbing alchohol. Sensor is usually located in the center of the paper feed opening.
If neither of these help your paper feed sensor or your pc1.gif board has gone bad and you will have to contact your manufacturer for further parts availability.

Help my paper shredder is not working.

I personally work with Fellowes brand shredders, but it sounds like you have a paper feed sensor issue. This may be a mechanical or electronic sensor located in the center of the paper feed slot. If it is electronic it may just need cleaning(qtip dipped in rubbing alchohol. If it is a mechanical sensor check to make sure it has not been broken or it may be stuck because of paper that has become wedged behind it(you may need to jiggle the switch a few times to free it). If none of this works you may have a burned out switch or a bad pc board, contact manufacturer for more info.
