To to start, my computer and see if your computer recognizes your memory card. Removable disk or whatever. This is with the SD card insterted in the slot. If it does then go to where your photos are and right click the photo and click send to and send it to your memory card. then the pictures are back on the card

Leave the card in the camera.
Connect the camera via usb to your computer. (Proper driver program needs to be on computer)
Go to my computer
Open the folder that has the pictures in it
Click my computer again
Click on the Drive letter that your camera is assigned to.
Drag and drop the image from the picture folder to the camera

I'm not real certain but you can give it a shot. Plug in your camera the same was as before. Now head over to My Computer. There should be a new removable drive. If nothing seems new, open up some of the drives and look inside. You might have to go through some folders, but eventually you will find a lot of .JPG files which you know are located on your camera.

Once you do find that region try copying the pictures on your computer to this folder and they should be placed onto your camera's digital card.

You can buy a card reader like this one:

Kingston FCR-HS219/1 19-in-1 USB Media Reader

And connect it to a computer to copy back files into the picture folder.

If files had been modified camera won't read them.

How do I transfer my pictures to show on facebook ?

You need a computer. You need to transfer the photos from the camera to the PC via the Interface Cable IFC-400PCU and the power shot software that came on the cd. You may be able to get a card reader device and plug the memory card from the camera in the correct memory card slot of the card reader and then browse the photos via the upload photos browse in facebook on the computer.

Pictures won't transfer to computer

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Canon power shot sd1000 won't connect to my computer anymore. The computer does not sense that there are pictures on the camera!

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Did not erase but since last night photo's on card have gone.

Did you copy them to your computer? In some cases, the computer will default to "moving" the pictures instead of copying. "Move" deletes the original after making the copy.

Your camera won't be able to undelete pictures, but there are programs for doing this on a computer. You can put the memory card into a card reader attached to a computer, and use an undelete program to recover the deleted files. Undelete programs are available for free download from the internet, try at www.download.com.

you have to use the data cable (which one come with your camera) to store pictures to your XP/Vista PC. Just connect the cable into your camera and PC, your PC detected your camera automatically as an drive, then you can transfer pictures.

Menu button not working

Delete the photos from your computer. Most camera software has the option of copying or moving the pictures to your computer. Moving them will free up the space on your flash card. Sometimes the software will let you delete the photos directly. If this does not work, then take the card out and find a friend with a card reader in their computer. They should be able to help you open the file on the card with the photos (often named DCIM). Then you can delete the photos just like you would delete a file. If you can find a friend with a card reader, take the card to a photo printer and beg a favor.

When I try to take a picture. The camera says I have card lock.

Hello rdfrazier,

Open the card bay of your camera, extract the memory card. On the card, at the right side edge, you will notice a small slider type tab/button. Slide it to the opposite extreme. Your card ought to be unlocked now.

Downloading from memory card (IXUS 75)

Try doing the following to see if you can isolate the problem:

- Clean the metal contacts on the card with a soft cloth
- Reformat the card
- Try connecting the camera to the computer with a different cable
- Try putting the card in a card reader and copying the files from there
- Check if the photos are displayed correctly on the camera
- Try copying the photos to another computer
- Try copying the photos without using the software (connect camera - it will show up as an external drive in My Computer, double click on icon and browse to photos)

If none of these work then the camera may be broken.

Sorry, no. You can use a card reader to put the pictures on the card. Bear in mind that if you've done any editing on the photos then the camera may not display them.
