HP xb3000 Docking Station Sound Card Drivers

I am running Vista on this machine and I guess at some point, the drivers for my docking station were cooked. Anyways, I realize that now and have been searching for the sound card drivers for it and am having no luck whatsoever. If someone could hook me up with that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Timbo

I am trying to feed sound from Windows Media Player through S/PDIF Coax output to my Yamaha 6140 receiver and having no success. Sounds like a driver problem to me as well. Cannot find any documentation re xb3000 outlining how spdif is enabled in device.

HP Support now only is chat for xb3000, but website down....

Just purchased a , HP xb3000 Notebook Expansion Base cant get the component output to work with my TV, how can I get it to work to expand my monitor? thanks

Hi orlandobusa1,

If assuming your connection is via VGA cable, because that's the only way I can see for you to get external video, connection should be a VGA cable from the docking station to the TV. Once you have cables plugged in, all you need to do is to set external display from your video card control panel.

Most computers have a video card control panel, please follow instructions below for the settings:

1. Right click on your desktop and choose graphics control panel
2. Once windows is open, look for multiple display settings, and there you will see if the TV is detected or not
3. then you should see a setting there, to either, extended or clone your display.

Solution provided are basic for setting up external display, however, my solution would not be applicable if the cables or ports used are different.

Hope this works!

Thank you for using Fixya,

Usb port not working after hdd reformat

Since you reformatted the HDD you have lost the driver for the usb, go to HP support and put in the model of the computer in the search box and click on driver/software. Look for the usb drivers and chipset etc.

Remove any external devices and reboot system.
Check your device manager for flags. If found remove and reload your hardware drivers from recovery manager.

I've had my HP pavilion connected to an HPxb3000for 16 mos with no problems. Today out of the blue a very loud ta ta ta sound emitted regardless if vol. control on or off. Then the screen began displaying...

Try looking on the keyboard to see if a key is stuck. I am presuming that you have a wireless keyboard. Also unplug the module that is plugged into the xb3000 - see if the running u stops in firefox.
