Hp laserjet p2055dn blank display

Similiar Blank Display solution from HP web site:

HP LaserJet P3005 Printer Series - Blank Display
ISSUE: Printer has a blank display.
SOLUTION:

Check if the printer is connected directly into a wall outlet. If not directly connected, power off the printer and connect directly to wall outlet.

Disconnect any local or network connection from any device and keep the printer connected with the power cord cable.

Power cycle the printer. If the issue persists, continue with step 4. If the printer powers up to READY, perform the following steps:

Print a configuration page and check the firmware version. If the printer does not have the latest firmware version, upgrade the printers firmware. Click here to see the latest firmware available for your printer at www.hp.com/go/support . Select Download driver and software (and firmware) and type in the product name or select the product from the product category list.

When the firmware upgrade is completed, power cycle the printer and print a configuration page again and check firmware date code, (it should change to the latest version) then power cycle the printer again.

If the printer powers up to READY, plug the local or network cable back in and print a Windows test page by printing from any application.

If the issue persists, continue with step 4 below.

Remove any additional memory DIMM installed (usually the LaserJet P3005N, DN and X come with a 32 MB memory DIMM installed), and any Internal EIO card or internal hard disk installed and then power cycle. If the issue persists, continue with the next step.

Perform a cold reset:

Turn the device off.

Turn the device on. When the memory count begins, press and hold the check button. Continue holding down the check button until all three device control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds

After the message SELECT LANGUAGE appears on the display, press the arrow up or arrow down buttons until COLD RESET is highlighted.

Press the check button. The device performs a cold reset and then continues its power-on sequence.

If the issue persists, continue with the remaining steps.

If the printer powers up to READY, test the printer functionality by printing internal pages. Plug the local or network connection in and test the printer from the workstation.

If the issue persists without any internal device installed, the printer will require service.

I unplugged my hp laserjet 3200 which was working fine. When I plugged it back in I got a flashing error light and this message: 79 service error 694: sm.c with or without any cablesconnected or...

This error is usually caused by either a dirty or failed Eprom dimm. On the lower back of the machine you will see a small flip up door. Open it and remove the memory sticks there and clean the gold contacts with a pencil eraser. Replace them in the correct slots. If that fixes it great, if not you will need to find a replacement firmware dimm.

I have an HP 4000N printer that is showing an E10 error. Can you advise what the problem is? Thank you.

EIO Error: Has to due with the additional card or hard drive on the back of the printer. If it's a networked based printer try the following:
Power off machine and unplug power cord.
Remove the network card from the EIO slot
Remove the cover from the other EIO slot (either below or above) and insert the card into that slot.
Power machine back on, see if error comes back.

If error is still present:
- Remove the card turn machine back on and see if the displays comes to ready.
If machine does come to a ready state than I would recommend:
- Replace the Network Card

If after replacement of card and attempted both EIO slots. Then you will need to replace the formatter.

Hope this helps!

Printer not detected when plugged into USB port. Tried multiple PC's and cables with same result. I get an "I/O Card Not Ready" error when I print diagnostic. I also just noticed that my LCD display has...

First I would recommend unplugging the machine.
Then reseat the formatter assembly.

The "I/O card not ready" is the network card which is plugged-in to the formatter. That card is for networking purposes. it will display not ready if their is not a cat5 cable plugged into it. On the first page of the configureation you should see the last 3 error codes. usually located on the left hand side half way down. if you are see 49X.XX errors you probably need to replace the formatter.

However the control panel blanking out could be several options:

First I would make sure it's not plugged into a surge protector. (HP recommends NOT to have any machine plugged into a surge protector),
Try a different outlet. if that fails that could revert back to either a bad control panel or the DC Controller. Below is a picture of the DC Controller

Dead HP 3200 series printer

The only fix I have used is a cold reset there is a firmware upgrade you can try if this does not work.
TRY THIS:
Turn the machine off and unplug for 1 minute or so.
Plug the unit back in:
Press and Hold the enter/menu key and asterisk key
Turn ON
Hold the enter/menu key and asterik key while the unit powers up. Once you see the message "Permanent Storage Initialization" let go of the keys.
Hope this helps

Hp 2420 displays 53.07

The 53.07 error relates to Memory. Turn the printer off. Remove the right side cover. Remove any and all DIMM (memory) cards and printer/network cables from the formater board. The memory DIMMS are located behind the metal cover. Remove any Jetdirect Cards installed into the EIO slot on the back of the formatter.

With all accessories removed power up the printer and see of it comes to ready. If not, you need a formatter board. If it does come to ready, power it off and plug one peice that you removed back in and try again. Keep adding one at a time and powering up again until the error returns. When you get the error, the last added back onto the machine is the problem.

Here's a copy of the service manual to help with disassembly, troubleshooting and part numbers for ordering.

Blank display

If the printer control panel is blank when you turn on the printer, check the following items.
1 Make sure that the printer is plugged into an active electrical outlet receptacle that delivers the
correct voltage.
2 Make sure that the on/off switch is in the on position.
3 Make sure that the fan runs briefly, which indicates that the power supply is operational.
4 Make sure that the control-panel display wire-harness is connected. See the hint in the
procedure for Top cover.
5 Remove any HP Jetdirect or other EIO cards, and then try to turn the printer on again
