Samsung tocco problems

Could someone tell me how to transfer music onto the tocco. I have itunes, and most of my music on itunes was imported with a cd.
Also is it possible to download photos from my laptop onto the phone.
Does anyone know if this 3G phone is able to be unlocked.

I understand that itunes files are a different format however when I select music folder on my hard drive all it comes up with is itunes. Someone did tell me that I need to re-install all my cd´s again and save them as a MP3 format. Surely I do not have to do all that. It would take hours!!!!!

  • louise1072 Feb 12, 2009

Using windows vista. Yes they were all from original cd¨s. The files are not in MP3 format. I have put them onto the samsung pc studio 3 which came with the phone but it cannot read the file and displays Not supported. ipod files are M4A.

Do I need to import all my music again and save it all as MP3. This would take days!!!!!!!!!!

Use the software that comes with the phone samsung pc studio 3 very easy to use. You may have a problem with itunes as it stores files in a format that can only be read by Iphones/ipods/itunes so it may be best to navigate on your pc to where the tunes are ie my music or another place on your hard drive. then using the samsung software to put the music/pics on your phone.

hope this helps

are you using a mac or pc? and also when you say from a cd, do you mean all the songs are taken from the orignal cd's?
as a default setting itunes stores its files in 'my music => itnues => itunes music' have a look in that location and see if the files are in mp3.
also let me know the answers to the above!

    thanks, speak soon

  • jon_castle Feb 12, 2009

ok, well you sound like you know what you are doing when it comes to file formats etc etc... so the best way around this is to download and install this
this will convert m4a to mp3, you can convert them all in batches too which means you dont have to do them one by one!

    this should see you right!
let me know if you have any problems!

How to add Songs on iPhone without a PC & iTunes

One of the few things that disappoint me about the iPad is that Apple's flagship tablet is still, to some extent, dependent on a nearby computer and an open window of iTunes or WinSCP. Bridge is a Cydia app which makes importing files to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch without a computer an easier affair. While there are many apps and tweaks that can get content on your phone, Bridge has a special feature which makes it worth the $1.99 asking price.

We've already covered a number of methods to download programs to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch without using iTunes. Some of the free methods include OpenSSH (for secure wireless file transfers from a computer), iTransmission 2 (for torrents), and Safari Download Enabler (for downloading links and video files from the web). The problem is that while these apps and tweaks are more than capable of loading music on to your phone, they don't add the files to the Music app. This means you can't make playlists with the songs you've just loaded onto your phone.
That's where Bridge comes in. With Bridge, you can locate the files you've downloaded to your device and properly import them into your library. You can use this to load Songs, Ringtones, and Podcasts for audio files, set album artwork from your photo roll, and also import movies.

Applying album art to an imported song in Bridge
The only downside is the music won't be transferred back to your computer by syncing through iTunes. That's not a limitation of the app, but a limitation in iTunes. It wasn't built to transfer user-loaded music to your computer from an iPod. If you ever need to import music to your computer, you can use SSH to copy the music over. The files should be stored in 'var/mobile/media/music'.
Bridge can be found in the BigBoss repository on Cydia. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

How do i install itunes onto my samsung omnia 2

You cannot directly install iTunes on a Windows based phone - you do have various options, however. You can install iTunes on your PC and download music to your PC and then transfer the tunes to the phone using either file transfer, Windows Media Player or Windows Media Centre, or you could copy the music onto a microSD card and insert that directly into your phone.

Note that if you transfer music from iTunes, you may need to "translate" the file format into WMV or MP3 format befoer transferring it to your phone.

Samsung Tocco Lite - Unable to create default folder

Instead of using 'PC studio' option while connecting, use 'media player' option for transferring the files. Check this option. If this does not work, try creating the default directory yourself manually using the phone and then try transferring the files.
