if you have I tune on your PC or Laptop then
connect your I pod with your pc or laptop. when you
connect your i pod then you can see small window restore or update then click on that . means you need to restore your I Pod .Make sure after this you could loose your data like music and others
I don't know it by model number but the generation are easy to define.
A first generation nano is either black or white. It is made out of the same material as a standard Ipod at the time. Comes in 1 gig and 2 gig only
A second generation nano is multi colored and made from a metal case. Similar in design to a mini. The edges are round as well. comes in 2 gig and 4 gig.
A third generation nano is a different size than 1 and 2. it has a bigger screen on it. Can play videos as well. Comes in 2 gig, 4 gig, and 8 gig as well.
Try holding the menu button and center button at the same time. this should reset the ipod completely. Its a force power up and power down similar to Zapping your PRAM on a computer. this should reset the configurations Hopefully that helps
