Question about HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Printer

The print cartridge cradle cannot move.

Hello,
My printer is HP 1402-All-in-one. Recently I oiled the cradle bar for smooth
movement of cartridges. From then on the printer shows the following messages
after printing a sheet. "The print cartridge cradle cannot move.
Please turn device power off. Check device for a paper jam or other
obstruction". But there is no paper jam actually. Once it was turrned off & on, it
functions again and repeat the same.
Please help me to solve this.

    My printer is an hp psc 1315xi-All-in-one.
    After printing a sheet from a pdf the printer stops and the message. "The print cartridge cradle cannot move." appears. I overcome the problem by opening the cover door which causes the sheet to be released and the next sheet to load.

    I have a psc 1315 all-in-one printer and get the "Mechanism Error - the print cartridge cradle cannot move." message after each print. I open the access door to the cartridges and let the printer move the cradle to the middle position. I close the door and the paper feeds and prints. But, I have to do this after every page. Any firmware fix for this?

"The print cartridge cradle cannot move."
I fixed this problem by disconnecting the power cord from the power-strip and connecting it directly into the wall. My printer was not getting enough voltage from the power-strip. I hope this helps.

Does is look/sound like the cradle is attempting to move? Make a loud popping sound? There is small belt that is used to guide cradle across the platen. Take a closer look to see if anything is obstructing that belt. It's rubber and looks like it has gear teeth on it and fits around white gear wheels on side of cradle.

If it doesnt' move at all, a hard reset might clear it. You'll have contact HP support for that as each printer model is different. Some you just hold the power button in for a certain number of seconds.

A soft reset can be tried by unplugging power cord from printer and waiting 15 seconds then reattach power.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has had this problem without a solution. I found that by moving the print cartridge (with the power on) all the way to the left, closing the door, powering it off, then powering it back on, then doing the test print (cancel and color start copy key), it would print. Had to do this 2-3 times. Then tried printing a document and it printed. So far, it 'appears' to be working OK. Hope it keeps working, otherwise I will just have to get another printer...

To fix this error is much easier than it looks. Unplug the printer power. Move the ink cartridge cradle to the left. Over to the right you will see a small pad about 1cm square. This pad and the area around should be covered with ink. Get a cloth and press down on this pad - it's not fixed so should come away with the cloth, otherwise use tweezers gently. Squeeze the pad several times between your thumb and forefinger while inside the microfibre cloth to remove ink build up. Then when not much ink comes out on the cloth, clean the area in the printer around the pad so that looks free from ink too. Then position the pad back in place, move the cradle back into position, plug in and switch on - should work fine now.

My MX922 printer worked well this morning. All cartridges have ink but ALL lights under the cartridges are on and print comes out blank. There are no error codes or anything abnormal displayed


This problem is mainly happens to all inkjet printers. If your printer print blank pages then please at least once go to official site of Canon and check whether there is any printer/scanner drivers update is available or not. If yes then download it. Also check your ink cartridges. Because if there is no print on paper that means your ink might be dry.Sometimes it clog the print head. If your ink cartridges get dry change it. My Epson WF-3640 is printing with gaps in the text. How do I fix this issue?


Make sure you should remove shipping tape from the ink cartridge. These taps are used to protect printer during shipping but you have to remove it before starting printing. Beacuse these taps prevent the ink to entering in print head. If you will not found shipping tape in your printer then there is terr off strip, remove it. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.

Why is print quality poor after inserting new ink. Copies are faint and have lines


the cartridge is clogged with ink that has dried and reduced the slit. you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. it happens usually if you recharge the cartridge 3 or 4 times with compatible ink.

How to clean ink absorber for canon mp237


First of all open the ink cartridge of your printer.
When the ink cartridge would move all the way over, then disconnect the power cord of your printer.
Now pull the frame of rubber from the printer and remove ink pads.
To clean ink pads you may place them in a bowl having warm water and start rubbing and squeezing them to clean it from ink.
After removal of ink, keep the pads separate for dry.
When the pads get dry completely, place them back in rubber frame.
Reinstall the rubber frame in your printer.

Hp laserjet m1522f error 5 turn off and on


Hi, Error 5 is a Scanner error. When turning the printer on, have the lid up so you can watch the scanner movement. Does it move smoothly? It should go through a warm up and you should be able to watch the scanner movement. If there is a problem with the scanner, there isn't a lot you could do except. The service manual says the scanner assembly should be replaced. If it was my printer, I would try to take a closer look at the scanner assembly and check to see if the scanner unit is bound up somewhere, or maybe a drop of 3 in 1 oil on the scanner rails. Let us know what happens.

HP printer psc 2210 all in one


Chances are that you didn't lock down the scanner when you moved the unit. You can attempt to open the unit and move the scanner bar manually to reset it. HPs are very difficult beasts when it comes to their power up check out. It must be fully functional...including all cartridges...to work in most cases. Good luck.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
