Hard wire first the device to your modem and then configure the wireless settings to maximum channel. check if wireless settings is configured to the device you want to have wireless network with.

Help with wireless internet connection

More than likely there are two issues. Either there is a physical switch that is turned off; or the wireless chip has gone out. The chips are about $30 online.

My husband was given an old Dell laptop and it has a Lynksys Wireless Adapter card in the side, model WPC54G, and I am unable to connect it to my netgear router?

Does the laptop detect the WiFi of the netgear router ? If not, plug a PC to the router and access the interface to ensure that the SSID is not hidden.

If the WiFi is detected, the problem might be with the security key used. Again, in the interface, note down the security key, in the wireless section of the router. Then, when attempting to connect to the WiFi, enter the security key as noted (Capital letters if any, etc).

You might also try to configure the WiFi connection manually, without using the wizard.

Another issue might be conflicting software. If a software is installed by the manufacturer of the WiFi component, it may conflict with Windows' WiFi manager. You will have to indicate to either Windows or the software to NOT manage network connections, then use the other (i.e. if you tell Windows not to manage wireless networks, you will have to use the manufacturer's software)

I renewed my Norton security subscription and now I can't get my wireless connection to work. What do I need to do to fix this?

Seems like Norton is blocking your connection. I'm pretty sure its something to do with Norton. Try looking through Norton and its settings to see what is blocking your connections.

If you are using Windows XP, you go to start --> control panel --> network connections --> right click on wireless network connections & go to properties --> go to wireless network tab --> delete / remove all the networks under preferred network box then click on view available wireless or configure then connect to your network by clicking on the name of your modem --> type in the wireless password.

Connecting one network to another?

This is what I would do I would connect the wireless to the internet direct and allow all PC with wireless capabilities to access the net through that wireless irrespective to where I place the wireless router.  Alternative I would link the cable on on the second floor the one you use for the PC to access the net to access the the wireless it should automatic allocate IP addresses as each machine accesses the network.  The speed of that wirless is decreased as each wireless PC comes on line.
