Pdf and jpeg format scanning problem in Canon iR2018 copier
Hi There. I have installed Canon iR2018 copier on network. It doesnt have DADF. For network scanning I didnt find scanner icon in my computer, scanner and camara wizard or on the desktop as well. I am scanning from the MS word application. In MS word there is a option "insert picture from scanner and camara". From there i am scanning the documents and pictures. But when I am saving the file after scanning it saves in .doc type. How can I scan pdf or jpeg type? Should I need to buy Universal Send Kit for that Or is there another way to scan pictures in pdf and jpeg format? Universal send kit comes with the copier or its a optional part? kindly assist me.

Yes,you do have to buy the sent kit.But remember the sent kit Scan to e-mail and not directly to the computer.Your company have to have a mail server to be able to work properly.Adobe have software that you can buy that chance word document to PDF.

You need to install the software then connect the scanner & open the software. Put the paper in scanner & then click scan option in software for scanning. Select before scanning your choice. Jpeg /PDF format u want.
Can you make it scan to a picture format(like jpeg)? If so, then you can use the jpeg and print it as a PDF. There are a variety of tools that can print to PDF(they install a virtual printer), but I like doPDF.
You can't without very expensive Optical Caractor
Reader software to convert it. All that scanners do is print thousands of dots that they see from a document into a picture in JPEG format. All they see is dots, not text.
Scanners scan a document in picture format(JPEG) dot per dot. Their are complete programs out ther that will scan a document and turn it into a text fine. They are far more expensive that just copy a picture of some words on a page, Typical scanner function. I hope I have explained it well.
Hi, im a Canon certified tech support engineer, if you have got the correct driver for the copier the problem is based on the version of your office software. as for some vista compatible devices (yet to come) some copiers will not properly operate with this new software versions (including some office) until proper drivers and updates are released. sorry for the inconvinience.
