Display issues on CDX-FW570

Display/text info (ie..clock/time, station, etc.) won't come up on my CDX-FW570. Lights do come on though and the unit works fine other than the display issue. Can someone help. I have read manuals and am not getting anywhere. I'm reading info about a code? Is there a code I need to use and if so, without being able to read the display how would I be able to enter this code?

Thx

I had the same problem. The brass pins behind the faceplate that connect the main unit to the faceplate get dirty. clean them off with a little rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. it fixed mine right up.

YOU MUST RESET THE PLAYER BY PRESSING A RESET SWICH LOCATED ON FRONT SIDE OF YOUR PLAYER. PRESS THE RESET SWICH FOR 10 SECONDS WHEN THE POWER SUPPLY IS ON.
IT MAY SOLVE YOUR PROB.

Sony CDX-FW570: sound only from one speaker on radio. Both speakers work on CD. Checked that mono/stereo function was on stereo. All wires are connected correctly.

Sounds like a bad unit. If it's still under warranty, contact customer support or call a local electronics repair shop for more information.

It wont turn on the radio but the cd will work but the buttons wont make the sound i know when its working

Try removing the face panel - behind it on the main unit you will see a indent (small hole) that says reset, insert a ball point and you will hear a bleep (sometimes). Replace the front panel and everything should work, though you will need to reset stations and clock.

Stereo will not save time or set stations. not

sounds like a very common power wire issue. if not connected to the cigarette lighter or other continous power source when the car shuts off all memory will be lost, ie... audio settings, station memory, clock memory

I have a CDX-M8815X unit only works with remote commander

The problem is the ribbon cable, the one connects the face to the main board,if you live in USA you can order it from pacparts.com or sony.com.
For replace it you will need to open the unit and open the face by moving manually the gears, then remove the side screws of the face and remove face, then remove the cd mech. you will see the ribbon connector.Just replaced and put everthing back togheter.
Good luck

Set time on Sony CDX-L400x

Press and hold the [DiSPLay] button (in the bottom row of black buttons -number presets etc.- most to the right side) for a while, then the unit should enter "Clock Set" mode.

(likely that you've found a solution by now; but i might aswell add one for others having the same problem).
