May nt be compatible with your new OS ...Check the Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility List for full details and more information. Search Windows 7 Compatibility to find the list. You can also check Vista, XP and other OS from there.
You say the hard drive sometimes makes a sound. Are you saying an abnormal sound or the correct sound? If it makes an abnormal sound then send it back to the supplier for a replacement. If it makes the normal sound the reinstall windows 7 again and see what happens. You also do not say if you have loaded any drivers? if not do not use those from the motherboard disk but download them from the manufacturers site. Start with the chipset drivers, then graphics then sound then network and the rest dont really matter.Next go to windows update and install all the updays inc SP1. hopefully now your pc will work just fine.
install the drivers for windows 2000 or windows nt and the issue will be resolved ... first try with the windows 2000 drivers ....
windows vista and windows 7 they use the same kind of platform so these drivers work for windows 7 as well as windows vista
NTLDR means ............New Technology Loader ........... this is one of the most crucial part of the Windows OS, this specific component looks for the loader of NT(Windows OS) which loads the required OS files of WinXP(earlier it was called WinNT)...the naming legacy is still being followed though the OS has changed from Win95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, Win7....
The only way u can get back this is by re-formating the drive using the WinXP disk....more info ...click the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTLDR
this problem happens when sound driver is nt installed or nt installed properly

then on properties - hardware tab - device manager
check out here any device marked by yellow icon right click on it and then select install or update driver and new hardware wizard opens select install from internet and thats all ur problem will be solved
take out your sound card first.go in to windows.install the drivers again.shutdown the pc.put in the sound card.see if that works.if that does nt work try to disable the onboard sound.restart the pc and see if it works?let me know if it works?
