I'm using a Kodak ESP5 and I'm trying to print off an image that is
mostly black and white but has a spot color of blue on one concentrated
area. I know to switch the color to black and white but that takes away
the blue and the effect of my photograph and I definitely need that
blue color in the print because I'm using this photo in a portfolio.
The weird this is that when I print on glossy paper the purple color comes out in place of the black and white. BUT on regular computer
paper the color is fine the black and white is perfect and the blue is
great; however I do not want to use just regular paper. I've switched
my color settings multiple times and nothing is working. Can anyone
help please?

try to do this first, try first to upgrade the firmware of your printer, by clicking help in your kodak AIO Home Center, then under General Links, click on maintenance, then under maintenance, click on firmware upgrade.
after the upgrade is complete, try to remove and then reseat both the ink cartridges. then calibrate your printer. and then clean the printhead deep clean. then print a demo page to see if there is any improvement in your printout.
but if your still experiencing the same problem
you can call to Technical Support of kodak 1-800-421-6699 7am to 12am ET
hope this will help

I have the same exact problem with my Kodak ESP7 all in one printer. I called Kodak yesterday and they suggest theat you clean the printer head. I told them that I did this already but I still have a purple cast to anything I print (its less noticeable on plain paper). Since there isn't anything else they can they're are going to send me a replacement printer head. Hopefully this works.
