How do i remove a drip pan from a kenmore refrigerator

The drip pan collects water when the freezer goes into a defrost cycle. Most times there is very little water and the water evaporates quickly. When there is a problem with the freezer or the water does not evaporate between defrost cycles, the drip pan fills with water. If the front bottom of your refrigerator has a grille, you access the drip pan from the front. If there is no grille, access the drip pan from the rear.

Instructions
Rear Access

1 Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet. Pull the refrigerator away from the wall so that you can access the rear of the refrigerator.

2 Look under the refrigerator with a flashlight and locate the drip pan. Often when people install refrigerators they neglect to pull the packing from around the drip pan. The drip pan may have tape or styrofoam around it.

3 Remove any packing material away from the drip pan and pull the drip pan out from under the refrigerator.

Front Access

4 Pull the grille at the bottom of the refrigerator below the refrigerator door with your fingers. The grille secures to the refrigerator with plastic clips.

5 Remove any debris from the access area and throw the debris in the trash. The coils and fan under the refrigerator attract dust and dirt. Clean out the area with a lint brush if you have one.

6 Pull the drip pan out from under the refrigerator.

Wirlpool model GS6SHEX9S00 water pan underneath completely full and overflowing? I beleive this is the evaporative pan? Suggest lower temp on Freezer to solve? What setting would should be best we have...

This is not your defrost water. Look closely at the water filter housing where the hoses connect to it. They are likely leaking. Let me know what you see...defrost water never gets that high...not even close.

I have a problem with my filter, its reverse osmosis. The filters are full of water but the tank is empty and not working.

Hello, first open the Reverse Osmosis faucet and see what the pace of the drip or water stream is. It should be a constant rapid drip. If it is, next disconnect the drain line of the RO System from the Drain Saddle Clamp attached to the plumbing under the sink. The Drain Water should be a "Steady Slow Stream" of water. If it is, next, take a Tire Pressure Gauge and attach it to the Shrader (Tire Valve) Valve at the bottom, side, or top of the storage tank to see what the air pressure is inside of the tank. The Tank pressure should be a minimum of 8-10 psi when completely empty of water. If the tank is empty you should be able to pick it up rather easy. If the air pressure is good in the tank, then next remove the primary Pre-Filter Cartridge from the first filter housing and reattach the filter housing. See if the Dripping from the RO faucet increases in Velocity or Pressure. If so, simply replace the filter. After performing these tests let me know what you discover. Thanks, Victor

Odor

Replace your water filter and totally clean your icemaker. Check the drip pan under the unit if you can smell it through the whole house. You have more than an icemaker issue.

Water leaking at filter

If this is a Pure source 2 filter in the upper right hand side of fridge, Purchase an Electrolux filter bypass, P/N 241944302. This is a empty cartridge that lets water flow without water drip when filter is clogged. Fridgidaire/Electrolux made no bypass in these filters, so when clogged they leak. Plus they NEVER last more than about 30/60 days. If you use the bypass, you will need a separate filter elsewhere such as in water line under sink or behind fridge. Call me at 816-560-8545 if you need more info.

Water dispenser dripping

Your house valve may not be totally closed (bad seal or something) letting a small bit of water through. Disconnect the line to the fridge completely (in the back) to be sure. That way even if the fridge solenoid valve is bad AND the house valve is bad you won't get dripping. If you know the valve is good, there are times when the water filter will have air trapped in it letting the water in the line drip out slowly until it's finally empty. Pull any filters you have also.
