Two red lights flashing on the Xbox 360 means that the system is encountering overheating issues. What you can do is to let your console cooldown for about half an hour and you are ready to go. Also, if you are connected to a Hi-definition output and running on 1080p, you might want to downscale it to 720p as the console generates less heat in lower resolution. Hope this helps..
sure, it can. try cleaning your coolers : turn the on off switch behind the console OFF, then hold the eject button and , HOLDING THE EJECT BUTTON,switch the on off key ON (behind the system). it will clean your coolers.
The two red flashing lights on the left side of the circle indicate the thermal limit has been reached. (over-heating) Check to see if the fan on the back of the unit is blowing air. There are external fans that can be added to keep the GPU. (Graphics Processing Unit) and CPU (Central Processing Unit) temp down. Keeping the temp down can prevent the dreaded RRD. (Red Ring of Death) Here is link as an example of a cooling fan. http://www.gamerepairparts.com/xbox-360-cooling-.html Shop around and find one that you like. Remember, when it comes to these computer chips, cooler is safer.
The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console. The main thing that causes the 3 red lights to start flashing is because of overheating and as the motherboard within the console takes more heat it actually warps and bends until the solders become loose.
Once this happens you will receive the 3 red lights. Even before you get the 3 red lights you may have noticed your games freezing and this is caused in the same way, by overheating. As the chips take more heat they shut off to prevent lasting damage, although they can only do this a number of times until you get the Xbox 360 3 Red Lights.
To fix the problem you need to stop the level of heat the motherboard takes and you can do this in a number of ways, but it will involve opening up your Xbox and working on it. In addition, you could always send your Xbox back to Microsoft as they are offering free repair for this error, you will just need to wait 3-4 weeks that’s all.
3 Red Lights Flashing - is a general hardware failure
Unplug everything and let it sit for 20 min. Re-connect and try re-starting
these steps do not resolve the behavior, turn the console off, remove
the hard drive, and then turn on the console. If the 3x Red LED error
light is no longer displayed, turn the console off, re-attach the hard
drive, and then turn on the console.

power supply. When you turn on the console, the power supply light
should illuminate green even if the three lights on the console flash
