Question about Dell 926 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Incorrect port detected 926

Tried to print from my 926 Dell all-in-one. Error message: INCORRECT PORT DETECTED. Did recommended search for USB controller, everything ok there. Unplugged and plugged veryint back in, unplugged power cords, restarted comuter. no cigar! Help!

Try reinstalling the drivers for your printer. You should have a disk that came with the printer. If you don't then you will have to search the Dell website for the drivers. Once you have found them, reinstall them and see how that works out.

My Dad bought new ink cartridges ( black and color) and installed them in the printer and it is not registering that they are installed. What are some things I should check for and how can I fix this????


After installing new ink cartridges in your Dell all-in-one 926 printer, you may receive an error message telling you the print does not recognize the new cartridges. Refilled or third-party cartridges, which Dell does not recommend using with the 926, often trigger the error message. You may also receive this error after you have been using the same ink cartridges for some time. Whether the cartridges are new or not, the error can be caused by a number of sources. Following the steps below should clear up print cartridge problem.

    Open the Dell 926's front cover with the power on and wait for the cartridge carriage to come to a stop. Remove the ink cartridges by pressing on the tabs at the top of each cartridge. Check the cartridges to make sure you have removed all of the blue protective plastic film. Look for the "Dell" logo stamped into the cartridges' lids to ensure they are genuine cartridges.

    Clean the shiny metal portions of the ink cartridges with a damp microfiber cloth. Allow each cartridge to dry completely.

    Clean out any paper, staples or other debris that you may be able to see, then reinsert the cartridges into their appropriate slots. Put the black ink cartridge into the left slot and the color cartridge into the right slot. Make sure both click back into place.

    Close the Dell 926's front cover and turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord and USB cable from the printer for five seconds, then reconnect them.


  • If your Dell 926 fails to recognize the print cartridges after following the above instructions,

    take it to a repair shop for servicing.

    My lexmark 4300 series says incorrect port detected


    Hello!

    Yes the problem is with your printer port setting, to view or to correct the printer port setting,
    - go to CONTROL PANEL
    - click or open Printer or Faxes
    - right click your Lexmark printer and click properties
    - a menu will appear, choose or click PORT tab
    - at the Port tab listing, choose USB port and click ok after choosing the right port.

    then you should be able to print properly after the right configuration.

    Error 1203 for Dell Printer AIO 926


    Ok Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

    1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
    or
    2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

    Printer status window interface stopped working dell AIO 926


    I know this sounds too simple, but get a new USB cord. I had the exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. I followed all the advice about uninstalling, reinstalling and updating multiple times and it never fixed the problem. Finally, my husband made the simple suggestion that maybe it was a problem with the connectivity of the USB cord. I didn't have much faith in it, but I bought a new USB cord and hooked it up - and I have never had a problem with the printer since then. My original USB cord (the one replaced) was the one that came with the Dell printer - perhaps there is a flaw in the cord somewhere. ?

    Unable to scan -- I think I downloaded software for Dell 926 and rebooted, turned off printere, back on again, no luck. Help! JJB


    we have a hewlett packard t45. We got a new computer without a lpt1 port, so we got a usb cable. Now it will only print, the print requires a lpt1 port to operate properly. The new scanners and all-in-one printers use a usb cable. I had to got to the manufactures website and do some searching and reading to figure it out.

    3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes
    4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers

    1. FIRST TRY TO CANCEL ALL THE PENDING DOCUMENTS WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN BEFORE THEN TRY TO PRINT IF THIS DOES NOT WORK THEN TRY OTHER OPTION GIVEN BELOW.
    2. CHANGE THE USB WIRE (THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PRINTER AND YOUR PC )IF IT IS TOO OLD.
    3. THERE MAY BE THE PROBLEM WITH USB DRIVERS IN UR PC .
    4. TO RECTIFY --- RIGHT CLICK THE MY COMPUTER ICON
