Switch on saw

If you would install a swiched receptical on your saws so that you can energize a shop vac when you pull the trigger you would sell a lot more saws . Make it a switched and none swithced receptical so you can plug in another tool too.

It works the other way mate. You plug your saw into your vac unit and when you turn on the saw, the vacuum turns on as well. You need a proper vacuum with a power outlet. Your way would mean extra wires coming out of the saw. Not a good idea. Not everyone would want a saw with extra wires coming out of it.

Dewalt Model D304-04 reciprocating saw wont run. I plug it in, pull the trigger and it wont start. What am I doing wrong or what could the cause be?

Hi Fred:
Hmmmmm.
- Confirm there is power in the plug.
- use continuity meter to check that there is a complete circuit through the saw.
- broken connection in plug?
- broken wire between plug and switch?
- switch not functioning?
- switch set between forward and reverse?
- Speed control potentiometer contacts dirty?
- Bad brushes?

My hitachi miter saw started to buzz when plugged in. It's seems to work normal when trigger is pulled but starts to smoke when I release the trigger. Bushing poor good. I have no idea what is wrong?

have it investigated by an appliance repair shop
the system is this
plug in --no noise
pull trigger -- blade spins and makes running noise
release trigger and blade stops -- no noise
anything else indicates a serious problem with the unit especially if it is smoking.

THE ORIGINAL PART IS NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE, THERE ARE SOME SWITCHES THAT SHOPS ARE LISTING AS REPLACEMENTS. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH REPLACEMENTS, ELECTRICALLY THEY WILL WORK, BUT THERE MAT BE A FIT PROBLEM. GOT LUCK. I HAD TO USE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SWITCH MOUNTED IN A RECEPTICAL BOX ON THE TABLE LEG.

1. depress dead mans trigget on top of back handle
2. squeeze throttle trigger fully in.

Saw stopped working during a job How to troublwshoot a trigger switch on circular saw

when you pull the trigger switch it should "click" when engaged.. if you don't hear a "click" then you have to replace the trigger.... If it does click then it could be brushes, or a short in the cord.

Wen electric chain saw -is it doa?

Are you pressing the trigger lock with your thumb before you pull the trigger? That's a safety feature to prevent accidental sawing.

There's not a sensor for the oil, but you don't want to run the saw dry. It takes a special bar/chain oil which is thicker than motor oil.

FYI... if you look for a manual on the web, search for "Wagner chainsaw" because Wagner bought the chainsaw business from Wen.
