Where can I find a service manual for a 6510 scholastic singer sewing machine?

Service manuals are very difficult to find as manufacturers really don't want users to be have that information. However, if you search the internet, you may find some service manuals that are available from service repairmen or a parts diagram may also be helpful.

Scholastic 6510. Where do I oil it?

Is there a maintenance section in the manual that instructs how and what to clean? If so, does it mention anything about oil? If not, then it is likely yours is a computerized machine and may not require oiling.

Open up the bobbin case and remove the bobbin and case. There may be something catching on the hook (random thread) that is preventing the motion. The bobbin case could be off-kilter as well. If that is not it, take the cover off the sewing head and see what is blocking the mechanical parts of the levers.

Why won't my Bernette 65 pick up the bobbin thread

Try changing the needle

Try rethreading the machine top and bobbin

Make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way In the bobbin case

It's possible that the machine needs to be checked for a timing problem

I have a singer scholastic sewing machine 6510 the manual doesn't say anything about oiling it, does it automatically oil itself?

Normally any lubrication is required only when there is a friciton with dirt accumulation . Since the moving parts are set with lubrication it is not necessary to repeat any oiling unless you feel the machine moves with a friction. If so check out on the moving shaft for tiny holes to be fed with oil , just need to doze lightly on the moving parts, bushes and rollers of the main shaft.

I have a Singer Scholastic 6510 and when the needle is going down the thread is not catching.

Remove the bobbin. Thread your top thread just as normal. Now turn the wheel toward you and watch the area where the bobbin normally be. You should notice a sharp object (hook) pick up that thread just as you continue to turn the wheel. If it doesn't pick it up then the needle and hook aren't meeting at just the right time. This will mean that your machine needs to be timed.
