Question about Lexmark X1240 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My printer won't communicate to print. It stopped about a week ago out of nowhere
Try first doing a system restore to a date before you starting with this problem.
To do system restore go to
Start button>>Programs>>Accessories>>System tools>>System restore.
If thet does not work test the USB cable first.
If you find no problem reinstall printer drivers from the disk that came with the printer.
If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer
and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer.
Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset
it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print
again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.
that doesn't help, try the steps below:
Disconnect the printer from your computer.
Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
Delete the Lexmark print object.
Reboot your pc.
When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.
Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control
Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the
list again, then try to print again.

Select your operating system, download and execute the file.
