Question about D-Link DWA-645 (ASKU48532) Wireless Adapter

DWA-645 causes Notebook freezing

After I had purchased a DWA-645 for a laptop I connected to any wifi network it freezes after I push it into my slot. In the absence of the DWA-645 my notebook functions normally. I have disabled the pre-existing notebook lan and wlan adapters. I had installed the DWA-645 using device manager and selecting the driver inf on the CD provided. Although I do not understand the conflict that causes the notebook to hang? Despite numerous attempts to resolve the problem. I may believe that the problem may be hardware based. I do not believe that I could be the only individual that is experiencing the problem. Thank You.

Instead of disabling all other adapters, I would suggest you try to unistall their drivers. Think carefully first though, because you want to make sure that you have the drivers JUST IN CASE before you delete any, you may have a conflict due to multiple wireless adapter drivers on the pc.

I purchased 2 Irola dx758 pros for my grandchildren. one of them keeps disconnecting from the WiFi and freezes when turning back on. Says no internet connection for hours. the other one is fine.

The one that freezes and loses connection probably has a setting that is off for the internet. I would put the two side by side and go into the network settings and compare them.

Is there any way to stop freezing in Windows 8.1?

My guess would be your WIFI network. If the signal is weak or there is a lot of interference, then you will get occasional "freezes" while online, especially playing videos.

To test the theory, connect the laptop directly to the modem with a network cable and have your wife go online and see if she still has the issues.

If the issues go away, then you will need to upgrade your WIFI and/or add additional WIFI routers/extenders.

I bought an Asus EEE PC 1008HA notebook in December and now it is starting to freeze quite regularly, a minimum of three to four times a day. I use it often and quite a lot, and I have tried cleaning out...

A laptop generally freeze due to following reasons...please note that in terms of computers..... Freeze and hang are two different things...
here are possible cause of freezing
  • The most common cause is your Hard-disk not attached properly and is loosing contact occasionally with the pins.
  • The same thing happens with the devices like RAM, etc.
  • Avoid fast motion of your laptop while using it.
  • Some people also claim that turning on the laptop's WiFi while not using it can cause freeze.
  • Voltage Fluctuation also causes freeze.
  • Low voltage can also cause occasional freezes.
  • One more important reason is Overheating.

Hope this will help......cheers :)

Just bought a D-Link DWA-125 Wireless 150 USB Adapter. My internet speed is slow and often the web browser freezes. When I connect direct I have no issues.

A little more info would be helpful. What speed do you consider slow? Also, what web sites are you visiting? Finally, have you confirmed that you have the latest driver software installed for the adapter and is your windows (and browser) software up to date? Check Windows Task manager (Control-shift-escape) to see if your PC is already suffering from high utilization, the wireless adapter will drive it a bit higher. If you have several apps running in the background that are driving utilization up try stopping them. You may have to choose between convenience and performance if you are pushing the PC too hard.

Connecting using wifi

If you go into the device manager and click on Network adapters, is there a wireless adapter listed there? Are there any items that have an exclamation mark next to them? If you answered no to both of the above questions, then there is no wireless adapter installed. You can purchase a PCMCIA wireless adapter rather inexpensively online. ($25) It will just pop right into the PC slot on the side of the laptop.

Hp Pavillion laptop freezes when I install secondary memory

You may not put all together the 256 and 512, the system encountered error when two memory are not equal size and not equal brand.

Either you select 2 units 256 memory or either 2 units 512. or use only 1 unit 512 memory so that no freezes will happen.
