If you enter the wrong thing 3 times I think your radio is useless

  • Press SCAN and AUTO.M until bars are displayed.
  • While the bars are displayed, input the code number by pressing the channel preset buttons 1, 2, 3, and 4. Press 1 for the first digit, 2 for the second, 3 for the third, and 4 for the last. If you number is 2547, press 1 three times, 2 six times, 3 five times, and 4 eight times. If the dispay goes off while inputing, begin from step 1.
  • Press SCAN and AUTO.M approximately 2 seconds and 'code' is displayed. 'code' will flash for 5 seconds, then disappear to indicate that the system is operable. If 'Err' appears, begin from step 1.

  • !CAUTION: Three consecutive errors will activate the antitheft system, and the audio unit will be completely inoperable and 'Err' will flash. When this happens, the unit must be replaced by an Authouized Mazda Dealer at the owner's expense. Do not allow unauthorized persons to attempt to input a code number.

    Reset radio

remove the radio unit, and strip it down to the electronics.
there will be a few capacitors in there...using a jumper that is thinner than the solder points, short out each capacitor you see. (from positive to negative)

this resets some old TV systems and Radios memories.

    hope it helps

I have a 1995 mazda mx-6 and for some reason it will not go in drive or reverse. anyone know why?

The shifter cable could be broken, if the shifter itself goes into R or D but the car does not move it would be an internal transmission problem.

    Check engine light Mazda MX-6

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for stored fault codes. The light is to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Most parts stores will do the scan for free and getting the codes will show what faults the computer identified, so you can take appropriate action. Hope this helped and best wishes.
