Both the shelf in the main part and a shelf on the side door has broken, and I'm having trouble finding the part number to ask for. Fridgidaire says I need to provide them with that before i can get a replacement :(

Look up Sanyo Appliances on the internet. When you get to the Sanyo Appliance section, type in you product by name and number. When the item is found, look for replacement parts. Once you find the part you need, simply go from there.
For the GE refridgerator, the model GTS22 is an incomplete model number. That is actually the series number. Your actual model should be followed by 5-7 more letters, as in GTS22FBPBRWW. The full model number denotes dates, dimension, color, etc. You can find the full model number in one of two places: A) Upper front left corner of the food compartment B) Left side of the crisper pan on the food liner (with storage drawer open).
Once you find the correct model number, it is important to decide exactly which parts you need. Each door shelf comes in 3 pieces. You have two end caps (left and right) and then the front piece. For the bottom shelf, the end caps are different than the caps for the top and middle shelf. Also, do you need the dairy door and the butter dish? A schematic drawing can be most helpful.
When you know which parts you need, you can go online to www.partstore.com or call toll-free 866-925-PART (7278).
You are missing a number in the model number. The model number most likely should be 5969555510 this number runs in the sears system. You need a number 9 in front of the 555510 try this. it seems that this is the only model that will run with what you have provided.
Lenabs, I was able to find the shelf I needed by typing the brandname and the fridge model number online and I got the number of the part I needed from a diagram but the bad news is that it was aver $40 per shelf and it was just a piece of plastic. The new one would be just as weak as the old one. I finally decided to add some strength to the existing shelf with some hardware store aluminum and glued it on with some JB Weld. I suggest you take the broken plastic piece in with to an ACE hardware and you will be surprised how many pieces of precut shiny aluminum are there for the having. You can use that JB Weld to join the parts and make them stronger than new. Let me know if you need some more help. HarryF
