Question about Dell W4201C 42 in. Plasma HDTV

Dell w4201chd 42" Plasma Tv.

I am having the typical problem with this model as most people. I understand that there are 2 power supplies on this which are the main power supply and the sub power supply. I am curious as to where the sub power supply is located on these? My power LED lights up but I have no picture or sound. If you have a solution on how to fix this Please let me know. I am electronically inclined.

    Thanks

OK, you need to replace the Power Supply Board. It is made by Samsung the number on the board will be LJ44-00110A. The Replacement number is LJ44-00019A,the cost is $349.00,however this part also crosses to a Phillips number 99500042146 which sells for $289.00 these are all the same board.I use the Phillips Board. Most repair shops will not do any research to locate these boards due to time and volume of repairs the have to deal with. Most call Dell and they won't give out repair info. They require it to be sent in.The Phillips board can be purchased from any NAP distributor.

The philips part number was incorrect. It should have been 99650004216.Can be purchased from mcmelectronics.com.

Take it back to the place you bought it from they will most likely fix it if you have a warranty. Thats your only choice if you want it fixed unless if you wanna pay a hundred bucks to get a 3rd party lcd put in it haha.

My Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma, 2 yrs old, Model # 42PZ80U, screen just went black and I cannot bring it back. The red light is blinking 10 times.

Typically this means you've got a power supply that went bad. I've been doing research for a potential class action lawsuit on these "blinking lights of death" problems that the Panasonics are having and that is usually why the tv will show 10 blinks. Occasionally another component inside the tv can be what caused the tv to shutdown and show the 10 blinks.
I'd like to hear more about your experience with the television and any contact you've had with Panasonic in an attempt to get the television repaired. If you're inclined to share your story with me, please contact me at kiaeger@levjen.com.

I have an option to get the Dell W4201CHD Plasma tv for $100. However, They say that it will not power up. Does any one know how to go about fixing it or the price range it would cost to get it fixed at...

If the tv doesn't power up then the fault is big. Even if it's only in the power source if you don't have a  god experience in electronics it will cost you over $250 to call a repairman to fix it for you.
This was sold for parts, it's not for you.

My 42" plasma tv screen went black but there is still audo

The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Dead, no power

It sounds like ze power supply blew when it was being turned off. This seems to be typical of plasmas. Bad power supplys wont let the tv come on and will result in no lights coming on. Since there R no lights coming on, I would suspect the power supply first, followed by the power control board,. and circuit board. It may cost anywhere from $250 to $500 to fix.
