Question about Bernina Bernette Deco 600
On my Bernina Bernette 340 Deco, when turning on the machine, the carriage arm will not extend away from the machine. Instead it makes loud grinding type noise for a few seconds, as if it is stuck, and then an alert message pops up on the screen instructing to raise presser foot and needle bar, then turn power on again. The presser foot is raised, and I am unsure of what is meant by the needle bar, however restarting the machine does not fix this problem. Help is greatly appreciated! Thank you-

It could be that there is a loose piece of thread, or some fluff which is obstructing the tension gauge. Try blowing around the theading area (or even run the hoover pipe near it to see if you can **** it out). I cleared mine by folding a piece of non fluffy material and rubbing gently between the tension dial and machine.

The problem was that the stepping motor of the carriage didn't stop moving, also not when it reached the end. We opened it up and it works with an induction sensor to check the position. It has a flat cable of 3 wires and 2 wires where broken, after fixing the cable all works fine now.

Not sure if you found anything out, but Deco 600 uses PES format only.
If you have the software (Deco Wizard) sometimes you can change it to PES and save the design.
