Interesting little bit of extra info about this Acer eRecovery Management error.I just got hit with it on an Aspire 4500 Notebook, which was being rebuilt for multiboot use. Seems the Acer eRecovery Management tool won't work if existing partition to restore onto is less than 20 GB in size.

Not all versions of the tool have any partition management functionality, the version I have here doesn't. the Alt-F10 thing just allowed editing boot parameters of the restore dvd.

The partitions on the drive have to be deleted. If the alt-f10 doesn't work as ind icated, you can follow this process that I found for an Acer Aspire Restore Failed - reason a0x000000e.

I got it to work by deleting all the partitions on my drive (I first loaded xp, loaded system commander 9, and used that to delete all the partitions.)

Then while booting from the recovery cd, holding down alt-f10, the recovery dialog said it was partitioning the drive. (I didn't see this before, even if I partitioned the drive like it came from the factory.)

Then the rest of the recovery worked.

If you have installed windows 7 put an xp disk in delete all partitions. Create a new partition format it. Quit the setup then go back to your restore cds for vista

Ok it sounds like the hard drive either has some corrupt sectors or is damaged do you have a full install of your operating system if so try that. If that doesn't work and you get the same error try re formatting the hard drive. You will lose your data but it may be the only way

I want to reset to factory settings

If you restore your pc to initial condition means you ll lose some of the softwares you've installed.
1.Goto 'CONTROL PANNEL' select SYSTEM AND SECURITY
2.In that click on 'RESTORE MY COMPUTER'
3.it ll show some restored points. click on the particular one then proceed to next steps.
4.This method is helpful only we you are provided with some restore points.

This method ll not reset all ur settings

Another one method is there,
find SYSTEM DEFAULT SETTINGS from microsoft site or from your acer site.

THANK YOU....

Aspire 5520-5912 does not start ,shows only blue screen

Try to get into safe mode by pressing F8 when you first turn onto your computer. Choose safe mode. If you can get into safe mode. Try doing a system restore back to the last date the computer was last working properly.

If you can't get into safe mode then you'll need to wipe out your hard drive and get your system back to factory defaults. You probably have corrupt system files that are causing these problems.

Restore failed - reason 0xa000000e

Did you install a new hard drive in the Acer? They have had problems when trying to restore windows onto a new drive or trying to use system restore on the existing drive. The same error message comes up.

It seems that when the pqservice partition is not on the drive, the recovery DVD won't work if the drive contains any partition (Restore Failed - reason 0xa000000e) is all you will see.

However, try deleting everything on the drive (leaving only unpartitioned space) before putting in the recovery DVD. The eRecovery tool first says that it is repartitioning the drive and then starts the install successfully.
I hope this helps.

Acer Restore

The recovery partition is corrupted. 1st option is, You can send your computer to acer repair center in germany. I believe acer have international warranty. 2nd option is to buy the recovery cd from acer, you can installed by yourself.
About downloadable OS, i don't think they have it online.
