Question about Ahead Software Nero 6.0 (60045) for PC

1 Answer

Won't format my CD-RW disks

Using Nero 6, I put a blank CD-RW in the drive and punch the format button on the Nero 6 interface. Nothing happens. No error message - nothing.

Tried the manual reformat and nothing happens. When you say the cd is corrupted, does that mean I need to replace the drive? I tried downloading new firmware, which will not load properly. It asks for a blank CD to make a bootable CD, but I I get an error message asking for a different brand CD. Tried three different brands, same message.

Audio error

Did you drag the video and audio files.

There is no reason to format a dvd-rw, if you want to use it again
just delete the files on the disk, if you format it, you could cause it to stop working or not accept files.

You format a hard drive to change format, or install a OS.

You don't use format on CD or DVD's just to erace them.

Nero also has an erase option.

I cannot either delete files or format a cd rw disk. Xl files are on the disk

Correct. Copy all the files into a folder on your disk-drive.
Delete the files. Use software (NERO, or ASHAMPOO Burning)
to "erase" the CD-RW disk, and then to write the remaining files back onto the "now-empty" CD-RW disk.

My burner does not recognize a new cd-r disc

Ok people. First it would be an idea to use a CD/DVD lens cleaner, and try again. If you are running any 3rd party software/drivers like deamon tools, uninstall them and try again.

I have used Nero 6, 7 and I now use 8. I run XP SP3 on my desktop, and Vista SP1 on my laptop, and I have never found this problem with Nero.

You may need to uninstall the drive and re-install it. Also update the firmware for the drive.

Also, could you tell me what LG CD/RW you are using, please

Tim

Please insert a disk into drive

You can only copy files to a blank disk by using programs like NERO or by using a re-writeable disk like DVD-RW which you can format and use it like a hard drive. You need also burner not an ordinary DVD or CD player.

DVD+RW compatibility

your dvd only writes to dvd-r and dvd-rw, but writes to both cdr + and - r/rw. To confirm it go into nero tools and nero info tools and all the ticks in the boxes are what your drive supports
