Question about Compaq Presario 5000 PC Desktop
I don't really understand your question.
To get online you need an internet service provider and a modem. The Compaqs came with a dial-up modem standard and, and may have an Ethernet network card installed as well, depending on the model. If you get a cable or DSL connection you will be supplied with the necessary modem. Most modems supplied now offer USB connections as well as Ethernet, so if you don't have a network card you probably won't need one.
Once you have signed up with a service provider, they will give you all the information you need to connect to their service.
If this doesn't answer your question sufficiently, please post a comment before giving a negative rating and I'll try to give more help.
